January 23, 201412 yr What I mean by that is, I have aircraft of all sizes, and I'd like to practice my manual flying, but I don't want 20 different routes for 20 different aircraft, I want two airports I can learn the area of very well, and be able to do landings manually (as well as maneuver manually) Do any of you have a route you use like this? I was thinking K|LAX to KLAS, but if anyone has a fun short scenic route that's comparable in length id be all ears.
January 23, 201412 yr Partial to the Northeast: LGA/EWR/JFK-BOS DCA-LGA/JFK/EWR You could even add PHL or BWI or IAD in there... 10700k / Gigabyte 3060
January 23, 201412 yr TJSJ To TNCM. It's 45 min by 737, and allows you to use Twin Otter, NGX, and any GA turbine/piston aircraft for pilotage when flying over Caribbean islands. Plenty of alternates if you get bored.
January 23, 201412 yr Commercial Member My standard short haul route to get acquainted with any (bigger than GA) plane is CYEG to CYYC. However, the scenery, albeit Orbx NRM, is not terribly exciting, and neither end has payware coverage. I just pick it since I currently live close to CYEG, and have in the past have lived close to CYYC. A variation that I also fly while learning a plane is CYYC to CYLW, which is quite nice, since it takes you over the rockies. Either one is quite short; nice for learning the ins and outs of something new, or for when the evening doesn't allow for much flying time. Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
January 23, 201412 yr Westray to Papa Westray in the Orkney Islands of Scotland? You'll not get any shorter than that!
January 23, 201412 yr KEWR to KACY. There is an approach that brings you in over FSX's version of Atlantic City. The flight is close enough and contains SIDS/STARs. Also, it can be used as a test for your scenery (lots of difference between NJ/NY urban areas and the Vinelands of NJ). If you prefer something longer you could do KBOS to JFK. KJFK to IAD. Even SFO to LAX or SAN. IMO, try an area you like (or a local area) pick two good airports and try them! "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
January 27, 201412 yr PAJN to PAKT? Full ORBX coverage. Even though it goes over two scenery regions, they're both must-haves. You can fly B737, Twin Otter, Q400 (which may be an IRL reality in the near future), Beaver, you name it. Beautiful area.
January 27, 201412 yr I'm doing a lot of flying around aerosoft's Greek sceneries. Plenty of choice for any aircraft Louise London, UK
January 27, 201412 yr RJSM to RJSA Misawa Airbase to Aomori Airport (Japan) RJSH to RJCJ Hachinohe Airbase to New Chitose airport (Japan) KABQ to KPHX Albuquerque (NM) to Phoenix (AZ) KDLH to KMSP Duluth (MN) to Minneapolis (MN) KDEN to KASE Denver (CO) to Aspen-Pitkin county (CO) -Damien Damien Furtman Hovering Hellion
January 28, 201412 yr SAS or Norwegian in the PMDG NGX. So many routes to choose from, and most have payware or freeware airports, great added bonus.
January 28, 201412 yr YSCB-YSSY a nice short route, plus good ATC on vatsim during monday nights(Aussie time) "If you can't solve and equation with calculus, you're not using enough calculus" - A wise friend
January 28, 201412 yr KSFO - KLAX (paywares on both ends) RJTT - RJBE (Really really good freewares on both ends.) SBSP - SBRJ (Awesome photorealistic with placed 3d objects and amazing detail for the whole route, no gaps!) (Real airline GOL fly 737-800 aircraft on this route. Check out the 1320m long runway at SBRJ!!!!! Flap 40, Autobrake Max, weight limited. Takeoff flap 10, no derate don't bother over 65 tonnes unless you like swimming!) Satisfying as heck to get in and out of both airports. I'm also a fan of KPHL to KJFK (SunskyJet KPHL, Freeware to FSDT KJFK - check it out, the free sunskyjet stuff looks better!)
