March 27, 201412 yr finally one of the biggest bugs in xplane will finally be resolved. hopefully there are cooler updates to come in 10.30
March 27, 201412 yr Massive improvements! I'm very pleased with how it looks in the screenies Jesse Casserly ✌🏼️ https://www.youtube.com/user/JesseCasserly757 💻 i7-10750H 2.6 GHz / 5.0 GHz, 16GB DDR4, 512GB SSD, 1TB HDD, RTX 2080 Super Saitek X-56 HOTAS

March 27, 201412 yr Fantastic ! Hopefully we can beta test soon ! AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RTX 4080S, Ram - 32GB, 32" 4K Monitor, WIN 11. Eric Escobar
March 28, 201412 yr Great news - the view distance limitation was one of the things that annyed me the most.
March 28, 201412 yr Ah wonderful, at last! Although I'm playing more with P3Dv2 at the moment, this could bring me back. With the upcoming cloud shadowing though in v2.2 that may be only temporary (although we still hit that VAS wall regularly). It would be great if we could extend cloud depiction out to meet these new horizons (with appropriate LODs of course). I often have the impression when flying airliners that I'm being followed by a bunch of clouds, as beyond that radius there are none at all. With some FS weather add-ons one can juggle the cloud draw and visibility distances to alleviate this. Not so in XP (yet?).
March 28, 201412 yr finally one of the biggest bugs in xplane will finally be resolved. hopefully there are cooler updates to come in 10.30 Just a gentle reminder: it was not a bug in the classical sense as bugs are mostly unexpected behavior of some kind ... whereas this was a well known (by Laminar) behavior of the sim. And it was intentional ... because with the 32bit version of X-Plane it would plainly NOT have worked at all (leading to quick out of memory issues). And a few additional notes: this will NOT be available for 32bit X-Plane (because of RAM limitations) on any 64bit system with less than 6-8 GByte of RAM this might easily lead to other problems, like swapping (which will kill your flying experience) ... (for HD Mesh Scenery v2, I am almost sure, that 8 GByte will be the new minimum!) this will also add some FPS hit ... drawing more mesh in the distance definitely costs more ... how much, I can't tell. We will have to see, but it will definitely not be for free. One good thing however is, that Ben Supnik is also optimizing the scenery loading code ... so maybe, with some luck, this improvements will not result in even longer loading time (because it will have to load twice as many DSF tiles). March 28, 201412 yr Ben Supnik says: March 28, 2014 at 12:30 am We’ll be announcing new things at the Aerosoft conference this weekend. (In this case we = Philipp – he’ll be presenting.) Frank Willfeld is working for Lufthansa Systems and enjoys VFR flights with ultralight aircraft in his spare time. Philipp Münzel is working on X-Plane for Laminar Research and is currently training to fly under instrument flight rules. They will present the current stage of development of X-Plane 10.30 and demonstrate new features for VFR and IFR flights, for sceneries and aircraft. For the first time ever you will be able to experience X-Plane paired with the virtual reality glasses “Ocuclus Rift” which enables realistic 3D renditions the virtual pilot can immerse into. Woohooo
March 28, 201412 yr Philipp's involvement with RL flight training, specially IFR, just like happened to Alec, another active AVSIM forum member ( and friend :-) ) will certainly help bringing important features to xplane 10.30 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
March 28, 201412 yr What can I say? WOO HOO! Thank you LR  Vu Pham i7-13700K 5.2 GHz OC, 64 GB RAM, RTX5090, SSD for Sim, SSD for system. MSFS2020, XP-12, DCS
March 28, 201412 yr Hopefully someone will report back whats under the 10.30 hood this weekend. Anyone know if there will be a live stream of the Aerosoft event?
March 28, 201412 yr Commercial Member on any 64bit system with less than 6-8 GByte of RAM this might easily lead to other problems, like swapping (which will kill your flying experience) ... (for HD Mesh Scenery v2, I am almost sure, that 8 GByte will be the new minimum!) That's why I think there really should be an option for users to switch this off, even in 64 bit mode. I know that Ben wrote in his post that he does not want to add another option to the rendering settings, but this option could be very important. Not everybody will be able to buy new RAM or an entirely new computer when suddenly the update is official ... of course nobody is forced to update to 10.30, but as 10.30 is supposed to bring some other important updates, not just the view improvement, even people with less RAM will probably want to update.
