June 8, 201411 yr Commercial Member I would rather see a PMDG quality MD-80 over the 717. Again - not going to happen. There are already two good sims on the market for it and it's a plane that is rapidly approaching the end of its service life with the major airlines of the world. June 8, 201411 yr I'm with FDX777, a PMDG airbus, maybe the A330/340, now that would be something to see. Paul Dhanjal CYEG

There are already two good sims on the market for it and it's a plane that is rapidly approaching the end of its service life with the major airlines of the world. I didn't say I think PMDG should do an MD-80. I said I would just rather see that instead of a 717 if PMDG were considering the 717. June 8, 201411 yr Hello; In my opinion, I think we (as simmers) would find the PMDG schedule far more useful than making requests. Why? It's my opinion (based on no facts) that PMDG already has an idea of their releases for at least the next 5 projects. If we knew what the upcoming projects were (not a request by me), we wouldn't have to speculate or request products as we already know where they are going. Right now it's 747v2, DC6 and not sure after that. From past precedence, I do not recall PMDG soliciting these forums for what they should do next (I did appreciate it when Flightbeam did it, but we have to understand not every company will ask simmers in a forum). If we knew what was coming, you could ask yourself "I really want PMDG to do <insert favorite airplane here> but if I know the 747v2 will take at least 18 months and I don't know the timeframe on the DC6 when would they ever have time to develop what I want?" If you knew PMDG wasn't going to do <insert your favorite plane here>, you could then throw your support at another company (or non-company) and request features with them. After all, PMDG had to start somewhere to get where they are. Even though I've heard developers say our market is small, IMO, there is plenty of room for "Study sim" level addons. Particularly if the developer is willing to develop for more than one sim. In conclusion, I think submitting suggestions are fine. However, if someone is going to request a plane, maybe a little research in other PMDG request threads would give an answer before you hit "Post New Topic". I think companies would love to have the support from it's prospective buyers the way PMDG does, but remember, it's OK to look at other addons from other companies. If PMDG isn't making what you want, then support that fledgling company that is! None of us are in an exclusive purchase program with one addon company. Go ahead; it's not cheating! June 8, 201411 yr Did I really come across as that excited? Besides, every company starts out as a "noncompany". Of course I can't tell the future; for all we know, it could end up being a terrible product. The shots look pretty good though. I am not talking about you specifically, but I have seen a lot of people invest a lot of excitement into companies like NLS with their A380 (that was cancelled and then uncancelled), TFDi (who haven't delivered nothing to base excitement on yet) or Enigma (who have now merged with QW, which gives at least a kind of guarantee). Of course every major company was once a non-company, but there is just so many non-companies that didn't turn out... Airsimmer for one. AirlinerXP for other - and that had RealityXP and Dreamfleet behind them! --Peter Fabian
June 8, 201411 yr I'm still hoping for a PMDG-quality 767-200/300. Dave Simulator: P3Dv6.1 System Specs: Intel i7 13700K CPU, MSI Mag Z790 Tomahawk Motherboard, 32GB DDR5 6000MHz RAM, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Video Card, 3x 1TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2 2280 SSDs, Windows 11 Home OS My website for P3D stuff: https://sites.google.com/view/thep3dfiles/home
June 8, 201411 yr I am excited about the Tfdi 717 Boeing. But I still most anxiously await these guys!! PMDG 777-300ER + SP1 Airbus A320 > fslabs PMDG 747 V2.0 Qualitywings 737 Classic (this will be sweet, I am soo hungry for a quality classic 737 and not that Wilco half-baked-garbage) Qualitywings 787, YES, finally one of the very newest airliners to date, too bad though the flammable batteries won't be simulated! NLS A380, This project is moving at a slow pace, but when completed, this airplane will be on par with the 777, 747 and the MD-11 in the sense of epicness!! hmm, did I miss a few? I also await the 737NGX SP2 with improvements such as WX-radar, realistic cockpit geometry and such. But that can take a while. In the near future I definitely want to see: A quality,... DC-10 A330 A340 767 (in a new coat) And perhaps a professional 757? If all these nice airplanes could be realised. I would have everything I ever wished for!! June 12, 201411 yr All I want is a DC-6  As well as that perhaps something a little more "modern" like a good old VC10! Alex Haines (Current owner of the 777, NGX and 747-400X and plenty others)
June 26, 201411 yr Apropos the TFDi-design 717: They posted some nice exterior shots on their web-page today: http://tfdidesign.com/index.php?p=717 Looks amazing! Best regards,Kristoffer Løkke-Sørensen
June 27, 201411 yr Again - not going to happen. There are already two good sims on the market for it and it's a plane that is rapidly approaching the end of its service life with the major airlines of the world. Agreed, the MD-80 already has sufficient coverage. The 717 does have some merit though, it's got a solid fan following and there aren't any credible takes on it for FSX yet, unlike the DC-6 (Just Flight has the jump on the market.)
June 27, 201411 yr The DC-6 is an add-on they can put people on in between big projects. I very much doubt they could pull off the 717 the same way. The DC-6 is also a complex airplane, but in a very different way. The 717 would probably take as much resources as the 737 or 777 to develop, it is quite sophisticated. So, in essence, it would become a big project itself, ignoring the reasons why projects like the DC-6 are even started at all. I don't see them doing the 717... Not as a Big project, not as an in-between one. Name available upon request
June 27, 201411 yr A bit ridicolous to see people asking for 747s, 777s, 767s, 757s, 737s all over again. Fact is, we already have good addons for these planes. I do not want to see a million of 737 addons, but something that is not yet modelled in great detail for FS. Such as an Il-62, Il-86, Tu-204, Sukhoi Superjet, Convair 880, DC-8, DC-10, A340 or perhaps even a 717 or MD-90? Much more interesting with variation, not the same plane redone all over and over again. I agree with PMDG for developing a DC-6, good choice for variation. I'm not sure about it's popularity but I guess I'll see it more as a gift to the community instead of only doing capitalist business. MD-11 was a risk, but it was a plane that the FS community needed. Something the 737 fan boys don't get I guess.
