July 21, 201411 yr Greetings all, I'm new to this discussion. The 750 caught my eye last month, and I remembered it was Flight1 so I went there. Their site informed me: 1. it was only for FSX. 2. the terrain database was basically USA only. Bad news. Just before I flagged it away I discovered in the small print that a 'Full Version DVD' was available direct from Garmin. I was delighted for the billions of us who live or fly mainly outside the USA. I followed the link and found myself immediately at the mercy of Garmin's 'trademark marketing and promotional maze' where they appear to trying to be too many things to too many people. (I suffered from this in the past in connection with my admittedly dated Garmin Nuvi which I found finally performed at its best when fed to my garbage compactor. Then thankfully I came here, to this forum. I discovered that there is in fact a P3D version at some 'tech' site. This site I found to be anything but, while in a hurry to hit me for more cash. No mention there of a Global Terrain in DVD though. Maybe they chuck it in for the extra dough? But I jest of course, I apologise for my obvious irritation as a retired corporate marketing specialist, but can anyone tell me the connection with the PC Trainer and the P3D version of the GTN 750? Does the $25 get you the DVD with all the terrain on? I could find nothing that addressed that key, to me anyway, issue. Is it downloadable? I hope they ship to Spain. Not in 2-3 dys though, eh. More like to 2-3 weeks if I'm lucky. Sad but true in many other cases. Any help appreciated, meanwhile I'll blunder on in the hope of finding out more. Kind regards, Gareth Gareth Wilkinson LEAL Costa Blanca, SPAIN
July 21, 201411 yr Hi Gareth, been there and done that so I sympathise with you completely however I can reluctantly confirm that the P3D version is worth the money. I say reluctantly as I do not see why we have to pay more for the same version as the FSX version, anyway I did and I love it. First try the free PC download lite version http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=5380 Also if you have an iPad you can also download a 30 day trial version from the App Store. The lite version is required to run the Flight1 version and gives you the terrain for the USA. The PC disk version that you refer to for 25$ gives you the world terrain and is excellent. However as you point out seemed to be a nightmare to obtain. Luckily I was able to obtain mine from a local UK aeronautical company. Good luck but it is an amazing product, well worth the aggro to obtain:) Regards John (Bird) 4.6GHz OC, Windows 10 Creator, 16GB RAM, 780 Ti SC 3GB, SSDs Thrust master HOTAS Warthog, Virtual-Fly TQ3, CH Pro Rudder Pedals, 40 inch 4K Philips screen, CV1 Touch, AFS2, P3D4
October 7, 201411 yr Hello pipeorgan Can you say from where you purchased your PC world terrain dvd, as I cannot find any online store which stocks it in the UK? Thank you
October 7, 201411 yr Hello pipeorgan Can you say from where you purchased your PC world terrain dvd, as I cannot find any online store which stocks it in the UK? Thank you I got the GTN disc from this place http://www.gps.co.uk I emailed asking them if they stocked the disc ( Garmin Part No - 010-00478-00 ) The bloke who runs the business (Lawrence) ordered it directly from Garmin USA, once it arrived at his location he emailed me back asking to call the shop to make credit card payment over the phone (£33 all in) - disc arrived via royal mail 2 days later. October 7, 201411 yr I'll send them an email and see what they say. Thanks very much for your reply, as I had come to a dead end with finding a UK supplier!
October 8, 201411 yr Does anyone know if the GTN and RXP databases are interchangeable? EDIT. Found the answer in another thread (yes) ZORAN

December 4, 201411 yr ...will the GTN 650/750 also function with the P3D-Professional Version? has someone this combination? regards Jürgen Yes I have it and works great in the VC in the limited number of compatible aircraft. It seems to work in almost every aircraft as a popup. For P3d you need the "pro" version of the gauge, which is more expensive than the FSX version and is available here: http://www.flight1tech.com/Products/AvionicsSimulations/F1TGTN.aspx
December 4, 201411 yr I got the F1 GTN 750 recently and used it in the Milviz MD530F (Heli) ... works well. I also got the full Garmin trainer DVD so I could get the entire Global terrain. Only thing I can't seem to make work in P3D V2.4 is the 750's weather page ... does this require some additional component or is it just not functional? Cheers, Rob.
