Steve's DX10 Fixer is based on shaders that was available for free, designed by Steve. He proved his worth before charging people. PMDG built their reputation many years ago same with Aerosoft.

 

I also stick by my earlier comment. If what the developer is saying then this does not change a few settings or install new textures, this alters FSX itself at the programming level. I am not going to ask how as this is their secret, otherwise everybody would do it, however they are releasing a new product and the majority of publicity they are having, on the main voice for FSX, is negative. They want to prove their program, however are not giving people the chance to test on a proper level.

 

I for one will not buy a product that may only run for 5 mins at a time, then when I buy it does not work properly, especially after reading reports on other products of the like. If the company is confident of it's product and want good publicity, then why not offer a longer demo so it can be tested. What are they so afraid of?

 

And quite a few products offer the chance to test and run out after a few days or a few tries with no time limit if you do not register. 

With some solid testimonials from a few reputable users, this whole demo debacle will probably go away.

That's not correct, the reason why there is so much debate on tweaks with the FSX community is that there is no one tweak fixes all. Some people run with bufferpools, some don't. Some people can run with a LOD of 6.5, some can't get away with it. Everybody's set up is different so even if this program works great on somebody's system, it may not on yours. You need to test it is a few different situations and for more the 5 mins at time 'at your heaviest airport'.

 

If I test on my system and say EGLL, start up, pushback, taxi to the runway, line up, take off, you wont even get above the clouds. If you use FS2Crew then you wont even get to start the engines before the trial runs out.

Maybe if they get their activation issues sorted out. I reboot my PC and BAM, all FSPS products lose their activation.  I have never seen anything like it.  I must have emailed them 10 times about having it reactivated, I am not saying they didn't help me out when needed, it's the simple fact I have to continuously do it..  I own many other payware add ons, never have they been an issue. I am computer savvy, as you can see in my sig.

Great point.  I am also guessing a bit of messing around with uninstall and cleaning out the registry entries will allow a reinstall and another 5 chances if you really need them.

Can anyone provide more feedback on this addon? Only one user sent his one.

For our old eyes it would be easier to have one thread to follow. I hope a mod could see if this is possible.

Maybe a mod can put the two topics together - but please do not delete any message - this forum was the first one with questions about FSX FIBER ACCELARATOR. It changed more and more to a discussion about demo mode of this company then to technical discussions concerning the worth of buying it. Both seems important and concerns forum members.

Yes it is now you have 5x60min to test it. So I just did a complete flight with the majestic dash8 from EDDS to EDDF. Airports both from Aerosoft. As I have a pretty fast system I set the upper fps in FSX to 60 and in the Fiber Accelerator the lower target to 30fps. EDDS was not a significant change. EDDF is always a frame killer in my system, but I guess for most of you FSX pilots. Using the Fiber Accelerator the lower target of 30fps was hold more or less. Even on taxi passing the gates on the left the framerate stayed at 30fps. After shutting down Fiber Accelerator the frames dropped to 24-25fps.

So of course I saw less trees while landing - but the circumstances that it changed behind the curtain (lot of trees round EDDS) seems to give the opportunity to have a fine scenery and good framerates on frame friendly sceneries and at least a fine approach without a diashow on scenarios which are not so friendly to the frames.

So for the first test from my side I must say - IT WORKS FINE AND EASY.

It is tweaked - and it is running quite well, but even with a good tweaked .cfg there are problems at some (important) sceneries (like EDDF Aerosoft) - It is interesting how it did work in the demo flight. But you are right a good tweaked cfg. (following kostas guide) must be the base of all.
