09JUL14 - Release Planning for PMDG 777-200LR/F SP1 & 300ER

Maybe they will want to release on Wednesday or Thursday (Eastern US time) so the initial release madness has time to calm down by the weekend.  I think they will have a New Zealand Hobbit livery on the 300ER.

Mike

I hate being wrong but this is one bet I would gladly lose, for an earlier release. Yes they have showcased all the NZ liveries, Hobbit, Smaug, Black, New etc.

Good Morning All.

I would like to plan an around the world trip for the SP1 200LR.

I think a nice 10 stop trip will do.

Any suggestions for a route starting at OMDB.

Cheers Marc.

I'm just wondering what the consensus is here regarding the time between updates. Almost been a year. From what I've read people are pretty inpatient.

To be honest it baffles me why people are upset. PMDG have told us why it has taken so long.

The fly-by-wire has been rewritten from the ground up. Anyone with any common sense knows this takes a lot of time. I shudder to think how many lines of code are involved.

PMDG have admitted that the fly-by-wire in the product we have now is FUBAR, and they have apologised.

It is what it is, being upset or frustrated is silly.

Hi,

My hangar is now empty... I dispatched the 777-200ER for the update and it's now in maintenance... I am waiting for that major update. I also placed my order with Boeing for the -300ER which should arrive any moment now... I can't fullfill any long haul flight because of this...

Help a long hauler... send us the SP1 and -300ER.

Me personally using memes to make statements from a company is insulting when you have people waiting on something! I have no problem waiting but don't patronize us with memes, if they are not willing to give straight answers sometimes is silence is more appreciated! I've learned that PMDG moves at their own pace and to wait till they put out service pack, before I purchase anything else! IMHO quality does not grant you the right to be arrogant toward customers!

You are right Jeremy. I don't think RSR would give actual numerical dates without being 99.9% sure that they would make that window.

HOWEVER - Despite Roberts fondness for late night posting, given the time of 2.45AM for them, I don't believe you will see any news for at least another 12-18 Hours, if there is something due today.

One thing I do recall is that Robert said this release week and then it was a surprise from there.

Could not agree more more oskiatl but fear some people in here will jump right down your throat,no names mentioned!

Don't bite the hand that feeds us. I'd rather have some information than none at all. I was glad of the update, irrespective of its format.

I'm a desperate Captain too.  I have my computer all ready to go.  Preparing for my virtual flight.  I have bought my wife a stewardess outfit to wear and she will serve drinks and peanuts.  I have even set up a few lawn chairs behind my computer monitor to simulate a virtual cabin with seats that the kids will sit in and maybe even the in-laws.  Our dog will even ride in the pet carrier for added realism.  Oh please release the SP1 so the family and I can live out this virtual plane ride.

If you believe any of this you're quite gullible and need to realize that all this is simply software code.  Move on with life people, nothing to see here.

One rule you must live by on the internet. Don't take anything too seriously. Even if it's a meme picture with the intention of responding to someone. It's not worth your energy to get offended and write back about how emotionally disturbed you were.

Laugh it off, if the answer wasn't helpful, let them know. But don't let anything directed to you on this forum make you loose any sleep :)

I know there's a lot of money in aviation because I put it there.

I will not jump down anybody's throat, but I must disagree with oskiatl's post.
