  1. For me it depends on the forum or community. Honestly? I'm not a fan, but I feel comfortable enough here and enables me to participate in these forums. However, there are some forums and communities I'd never share any personal details on, no questions asked.
  2. I really do quite like this new livery in the R2-D2 theme. I think it's pretty creative and fun!
  3. These are some amazing wallpapers! Thanks for sharing these images. Shame the thread had to be derailed slightly but that's to be expected on the internet I suppose!
  4. I certainly wouldn't get your hopes up about an A350! Personally, I'd rather PMDG develop a 787, but any Airbus aircraft seems a longshot for now.
  5. For me, it really depends on how I am feeling! Sometimes if I am tired and landing in the small hours of the morning, I might let the aircraft land automatically. Although, I do try as often as possible to at least hand fly the final approach and landing. It really does depend! It is interesting to see what other simmers like to do.
  6. I use AVG Free and seems to work well for me!

I've also been having issues with SkyVector. It eventually loaded yesterday but today it hasn't worked. I tried just now and Chrome just says "This webpage is not available". Guess we'll just have to wait until the problems are resolved.
  8. That's very impressive! Nice work by Honda.
  9. Lovely pictures of London, I wish mine could look like that! I flew into London last night actually, with American Airlines. Never managed to get my London looking that great.
  10. 26 OCT 2014: American Airlines Flight 106 - KJFK [Kennedy Intl] > EGLL [Heathrow] Boeing 777-300ER | N721AN Duration: 06:10 hours. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the departure; mostly because it was night time. Here are a couple of pictures of the OCK arrival and final to 27R. Descending toward the OCKHAM hold. Turning around the OCK hold: Final 27R: 27 OCT 2014: American Airlines Flight 105 - EGLL [Heathrow] > KJFK [Kennedy Intl] Boeing 777-300ER | N721AN Duration: 07:05 hours. Cruising over the Atlantic, shortly after entering NAT C. Final 22L at KJFK:
  11. BrianT is on track, I believe. This isn't talking about your average forum troller. I wouldn't classify what the BBC are calling trolls as trolls. They're a bit stupid anyway to send death threats and other really stupid things with their real name tagged to it... (I'm not condoning threatening people just because you are anonymous though). When I first saw this on the news I immediately thought something was wrong with the way they branded them a trolls...
  12. Great screenshots everyone! Flight: Air Canada Flight 34 - Sydney (YSSY) to Vancouver (CYVR) Aircraft: Boeing 777-200LR | C-FNNH Flight Time: 13:55 minutes Cleared to Line Up and wait on Sydney's Runway 34L: Leaving Sydney: En Route with a small amount of weather to the right of our route: Shortly before sunset high over the pacific (since we're flying east, the sun literally dropped like a stone): Wing View: The sun nearly setting: After a long period of night time, we began the descent into Vancouver with quite a bit of cloud cover: Sadly, I couldn't get any of the final approach because the ILS in my FSX for Vancouver is messed up. It wouldn't capture the localiser and glide slope so I decided for a go-around and take 2. The LOC and G/S captured this time, but seems the ILS was set to the wrong heading so I hand flew it down. Definitely not something you want at nearly 1 AM in real life after being up since 7...
  13. I did Air Canada Flight 33 again. Here are a few shots of the most recent one [20SEP14 to 21SEP14]. At the Gate (6863 NM)! Wing/Engine View of a patch of bad weather over the South Pacific. C-FNNH up close! Approaching Sydney! Turning right. Vectors to Final 16R. On Final. Total Flight Time: 14 hours 37 minutes. Cheers,
  14. Great shots guys, really enjoying them!
  15. Completely agree with you. I too am still amazed that to this day such a program can look so good!
  16. In addition to previously stated options, you could use the CTRL+F (in the PDF reader) function. Just use it and and type "Chapter 12" or whatever.
  17. Very great images!
  18. I've been on holiday, so these pictures are not from "now". Date: 09AUG14 Air Canada Flight 33 - Boeing 777-200LR - CYVR [Vancouver Intl] to YSSY [sydney Kingsford-Smith Intl]. Total Flight Time: 14 hours 28 minutes. Pushback at Vancouver: Full moon keeping us company over the Pacific Ocean: Sunrise from the aircraft: Approaching the Australian Coast: On Final 34L: Thanks, LukeB98
  19. Air Canada Flight 869 from Heathrow to Toronto: Thunderstorms on departure from Heathrow: Currently, I am flying along NAT B.
  20. A fully functional COMMS page would definitely be neat. I was thinking though, with regards to altitude requests etc, could it not operate as a dummy and just approve 100% of requests automatically or approve a certain percentage? Just an idea, probably still wouldn't work well though.
  21. Today is the first time in the 777 that I have noticed these "pauses". On Sunday I flew Air Canada flight 856 with the PMDG 777-200LR. During cruise the flight ran smoothly, no problems. Sadly, as soon as the landing gears touched down at Heathrow, my simulator "crashed" (it appears not to be an OOM). Today, I am currently flying ACA 856 again. Same aircraft. This time, I am noticing these pauses. The simulation continues fine afterwards. They appears to be occurring at particular points... Before I continue - I have made a change to FSX since Sunday. I updated my FSUIPC after downloading some IVAO software to allow me to see other models in VATSIM. The pauses are appearing to occur at either 5 past or 25 past the hour, zulu time. At these points the speed in EXACTLY at .84 mach (as set by the FMC due to NAT crossing), the altitude is at EXACTLY 37'000 feet and the engine N1 indication is at EXACTLY 80.9 (which is the target N1 speed set by the FMC). This might have absolutely nothing to do with it, but just an observation I appear to be seeing on my system. The pauses last on average 7 minutes. After which the flight continues BUT the fuel appears to have decreased which now means I will be landing without sufficient fuel to get to my alternates. After this flight, I will consider removing FSUIPC and see if it helps on tomorrow's flight back to Toronto.
  22. Thanks for that video! That helped a lot.
  23. If you open up FCOM version 2 and use the find function (CTRL + F) and type: 1.50.6, it will take you to the "Over-wing Escape Slide" section of the FCOM. If you scroll down several pages you will find an image showing you what the "yellow hook" is. The exact page number where the relevant information can be found is page 224. Here you will find an image with "Lifeline Attachment Point" annotation pointing toward the yellow hook on the wing. There is a short paragraph explaining what the purpose is. To summarise, in a ditching emergency, the "life line" can be attached to a hook on the wing. It does not specify that there must be an exact position for it, other than "outboard of the engine". From a brief search of Google Images, the majority of pictures I found had this further down the wing than on the image provided by yourself (on the PMDG) but the PMDG modelling of this appears to be in the same location as the FCOM diagram. From some images (even from some posters here) it appears that the hook remains open during cruise. http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/3/6/8/1648863.jpg I also recall you saying that this doesn't occur on the Boeing 777-200LR and this is because it does not have an over-wing exit. I do not own the -300ER, and so I do not know if it "hides" during flight on the PMDG version of the aircraft.
  24. Is it just me, because the store looks identical to what it was before...
