That's mind boggling real!  I just checked the runway lengths at KMBS and 8,002ft is the longest runway there.  Plenty of asphalt for a 777 touchdown baby!!!

 

His website says there will be Great Lakes airports across 8 states and 2 Canadian Provinces.  Sure hope Fort Wayne, South Bend and Toledo are on his list

I confess I haven't read all of this topic, please do pounce on me if this has been said already. I seem to recall John Venema saying in an interview somewhere that this was what he foresaw as the future of his market, the idea that folks would want to land and get out to walk around the terminal. I personally thought the idea was nonsense but who am I to question the great JV? Interesting to see how this pans out.

Only thing I see missing is some people... I mean ORBX started adding people. If you are going to add sceneries with this much detail like this, you can't have a terminal with no people!

Unfortunately I cannot find the article that talked about this airport on the iPad. However, it seems that the massive amount of interior detail was to have the exterior look "REAL" when looking at (through) the windows. I guess the developers weren't satisfied with the generic glass for their latest creation.

Yes, this is what i have been saying through the entire thread.   

People saying "This is a flight simulator, not an airport terminal simulator."

 

Not out of the box it isn't, but with many addons it shows EVERYTHING to do with the airport.

 

Think of this as the additional detail that makes GSX even better.

I want to see a closeup of those vending machines.  They'll have to model everything inside in great detail, because after all, the front of the machine is glass.  This could run into a lot of extra polygons, especially if you consider that machine has a clear plastic bag of Gummi Bears which have to be modeled in considerable detail.

 

Yeah, the terminal is attractive, no doubt.  I'm just not sure if it has any practical application.  It'll be interesting to see what happens when it's released.
