I lost nothing, except a few minutes re running Global,Vector, OpenLC Europe,

What do you mean by re running? Installing those Orbx addons takes at least half an hour or so, if not longer! Did you somehow only reactivate those addons without reinstalling them?

Play on words....if you consider, having to reinstall EVERYTHING, one owns...it actually took me, totally beyond the time to full install...about 45 minutes, to a clean finish, with everything working and being referenced, as it did as v2.3   To me...in light of the alternative....45 minutes..is...a 'few' minutes...

I know the feeling. ^_^

Wes gave me the ok to post my process/steps to upgrading from v2.3 to v2.4.

I know The assumption here is that a v2.3 full installation was performed initially, I have NOT tested in any other configuration (i.e. 2.1 patch to 2.2 patch to 2.3 etc. etc.)....

Cheers, Rob.

EDIT: Moderators, I'll leave this up to you to decide if it should be a sticky.

Has anyone successfully done the 2.1 patch to 2.2 patch to 2.3 patch ->2.4 patch???

I think that I am going to go back to v2.3...and see what v2.5 (if there is one...) will turn out to be...

v2.4 looks just plain horrible....

Yes.

My cloud.fx file hasn't been updated. What do I do? Remove it and start the patch again?

How come?

Look in the other thread 2.3 to 2.4...and I have a post that explains why I deleted it..and am in the process of reinstalling a full v2.3

I am bypassing v2.4, and will wait to see what LM does with any other update.....

I have done v2.0 > v2.1 > v2.2 > v2.3 > v2.4 without problems. I did do a full clean install at v2.3.

Mitch, wait, wait for ASN to arrive... Seen your screens, ASN could make a whole different picture. Also applying the 'group' patch instead of 'sprite' (something like that) to the cloud.fx could make a difference.

Just saying

Thanks for your input, but I am about ten minutes from a full install back to v2.3 I will sit this version out and look for v2.5 when it comes down the pipes! Thank you and cheers!

Is anyone facing some crashes using Captain Sim 777 with P3D v2.4?

Yes.

Sorry,

I have done v2.0 > v2.1 > v2.2 > v2.3 > v2.4 without problems. I did do a full clean install at v2.3.

Thanks Jim,

I should have asked if you had successfully PATCHED thusly;

PATCHED v2.0 > v2.1 > v2.2 > v2.3 > v2.4

with NO FULL VERSION INSTALLS ...ONLY PATCHES since 2.0?

That's correct, the only full installer I've ever downloaded was v2.0 back in December 2013, I've only applied patches since then. I did do a complete uninstall>delete Prepar3D v2 folder>reinstall in August when v2.3 was released but I still started with the v2.0 full installer and patched my way to v2.3. I was planning to do that again for v2.4 but honestly I can't think of a reason why as everything seems fine.
