Any luck with EZDOK? That and ASN are two things I'd prefer not to fly without, sooooooo, I'll wait for word on these two.

Glad to see most of you guys are having good luck with the patch.

EZDOK is alright and working as before with my entries intact

ASN non-functional ... awaiting timely update

Hey Rich, thanks for the mention. Yes I've got some good stuff coming for P3D, you'll be in the loop no worries.

Awesome news Steve - you the Man

I take it you are not commenting on OpusFSI in V24?

No opus loaded waiting on ASN patch

For all users who are confused with the backup procedure of the patch:

You can use my freeware tool SIMconfigBackup.

SIMconfigBackup finds automaticly all relevant files of PREPAR3D and add them to a "BackupSet". You can easily backup all relevant files.

After deleteting source directory and patching you can restore them by select the important files and restore them to the orignal path.

I applied the patch, but my p3d.exe still says v2.3...

You folks that used the patch, rather than the full install..... should all check the post-patch version of your p3D.exe file....

I"ll bet you that a lot of folks, who THOUGHT the patch worked...well, it didn't, just as it did not from 2.2 to 2.3.

The patch routine finished right out...did all that Rob said to do...and ran P3D.  Check your version in DETAILS....you might be surprised....hello v2.3......it is still v2.3....

Looks like I will have to go full install, just like from v2.2 to v2.3

ASN works as long as you don't click away the Error! Message.  I dragged it down to the bottom left of the screen so just a sliver of it's title bar is showing.  Weather seems to keep functioning.

So far, it seems a bit smoother.  But I am wondering if anyone else is sensing a bit more control lag?  Maybe I need to do a reboot today.

Ever since installing the latest NVidia drivers the LOD/blurry issue has gone away for me; it's become acceptable.  I'm very happy with what I see with photoscenery.

Rebooted, control lag is the same.  Best P3D so far!

Nope, mine is 2.4.11570.0 and I did the patch. Runs great.

Michael...look at a post I made in the other 2.3---->2.4 post. It will walk you through a painless (no-pain add-on...blah, blah) installation.  Read it before you do anything..and you will only have to re-install any texture program...like ORBX Global, Vector, and Open LC, if you have any of them. Make sure you back up everything that Rob advised...for transference back to your v2.4 install.  You do that...and it is painless. I had a working version with all my add-ons..airports,GSX, Accu-Feel, FUISPC, only 10 minutes longer than what it took to install the FULL edition.  Just a suggestion....and oh...v2.4 is killer smooooooooooooooooooth!

As soon as ASN provides an update I am going to do the Rob/Mitch hybrid patch/reinstall option.  It's like a patch with a piece of mind.  Thanks Mitch.

You're most welcome, Ryan...and I have been flying around a rockin' and sockin' v2.4 for about 10 minutes.  Painless upgrade...and it's the way to do it from now on, through any version.  It's just so important to back-up all the files that Rob pointed us to, from the present/prior version before any deleting or uninstalling takes office...

You'll like the upgrade, believe me....

Hi

Right .. I am about to have a go at the patch ... but I am a bit confused on what files to copy back to the folders Rob has mentioned ..

For example:

He says copy back ... scenery config .. but in my folder I have lots of files such as  .... scenery config before Gibraltar_X      etc etc

The same in the other folders .. as well as what he says copy back there are loads of files relating to my add ons

Do I copy all those back as well as the files Rob has mentioned?

Cheers

Paul

Thanks for the tip. I will do that and hopefully save alot of time NOT reinstalling uk2000,FSDT and Flightbeam airports and all my FTX regions. What about EZCA and FSUIPC. Do they stay intact in the folders after uninstall of 2.3? Uninstall via Windows control panel right?

Thanks Michael

You have a problem.

I did Rob's patch procedure and my Prepar3D exe file is now 2.4.11570
