My verdict is that V2.4 is superb! I have Restored my PC with a system image that I made after working my way throught NickN's Haswell build guides after I built my system around this time last year.

I'm sorry I didn't make a system image before I installed FSX so I had to do my best to remove FSX and the addons installed at the time the system image was made. So P3D V2.4 has replaced FSX on my system at last. Not that I would knock FSX. It was a xxxxx but could be coaxed into delivering but only with Herculean efforts on the part of the user! I just took my first proper flight flight in a vanilla install of P3D V2.4 and it surpases anything I have ever seen iin FSX even with mutiple addons. Uploading to Youtube now will post link later:-)

Congrats! You are right FSX was great, but it needs allot of lipstick and blush to start to look attractive. P3D has all the essentials all out of the box. For quite the Experience

Ok I applied the patch last night and took a flight in the new A319 and performance was excellent.  And I'm not sure if I'm imagining things but the glass panels had reflections that weren't there in v2.3 and there seemed to be extra detailing on the MCDUs (finger smudges and grime) that I am almost certain weren't there before.  Maybe someone who hasn't applied the patch can check that out. Probably just my imagination though.

Did you apply thhe A319 Updates/Hot fixes?

Did you mention this on the Aerosoft forum?

Success here too! I originally started with 2.2, patched to 2.3 and then patched again to 2.4 using Rob's guide exactly. Everything working great- all add-ons like Opus FSI, FSUIPC, Rex Direct, and all of my Orbx sceneries good to go!. The new cloud.fx looks good too.

Thanks to LM and Rob ! !!!

I had a hell of a time uploading this video to YouTube because of a glitch in the Max length of a video on my acount.

Anyway a subscriber to my channel asked me to upload Vanilla video so here it is:

The full 19 min version is here:

It shows the very high setting and the FPS bouncing around 40

If that ends up being 60 with SLI we are home and dry LOL

Not your imagination. Prepared 2.3 had a little bug that prevented the glass in the Aerosoft A318/319 from showing up. Aerosoft first thought it was their problem (they discovered this already before the release) but after having some contact with LM it turned out to be a P3D problem which LM promised to solve in 2.4 (this was also posted on the Aerosoft forum before the release already). It's good to see LM kept their promise!

Anyone else still see those flashing vertical black/grey lines when panning around? It only seems to happen on the two highest autogen settings.

if you are talking about the line that appears for a split second on the right hand side of the screen just after 10 sec. in a the video in my last post

then yes I have seen them but this is about the only time i have seen one but I am doing little or no sim flight so I guess I would see it more if I did.

Me too! But , While keeping all my settings from 2.2 2.3,I've also noticed a distinct loss of frames per second…from 30 FPS in V2.3 to 6 to 9 frames a second in the 2.4.

Anybody else?

Does the frame drop go away as soon as you pause or enter slew mode? If yes, you're having the same problem I did. I fixed it by deleting all the files in the AppData/Local/Lockheed Martin, AppData/Roaming/Lockheed Martin and ProgramData/Lockheed Martin directories.

Oh boy, don't blindly delete the 2nd folder especially. Arrividerci dll&exe.xml.
