DX10 fixer is out?

Two quick questions:

1. Why should I purchase it? What does it improve compared to DX9?

2. Is there a way to test if it works before purchasing?

Two quick answers.

1. If you are happy with Dx9, no need to purchase.

2. Yes, most of the files are available free in the Avsim library.

I just purchased and installed.

 

When I attempted to run FSX with the DX10 Preview before installing, the airport runways were a mess, and the taxi lines were missing.

 

Post install I see much more of the graphics load being passed to the GTX-780, and so far all screens are picture perfect.

 

Very pleased.

So there is also an fps increase?

My FPS is capped at 30, and I rarely go below that figure.

 

My comment was not based on an increase in FPS, but rather a reduction in the CPU usage and increase in GPU usage, which I monitor with aida64.  The observations were under the same flight conditions.

Thanks. Another question: I have WOAI traffic and I must not use shadows, otherwise I will not see the AI airplanes. Is this problem gone with DX10? Can I enable aircraft shadows?
