October 14, 201411 yr Placebo here - is it just me or is the menu items smaller and the resolution of the graphics the same as on the native monitor resolution.?? despite me choosing a higher resolution??? That's how it works. The final output is always native resolution but down sampled from the higher one you chose. gb. YSSY. October 14, 201411 yr If i'm running at 3840x1080...what would i set the higher resolution to so it can downsample to this? i9 13900KF @ 5.5Ghz | MoBo MSI PRO Z690-A WiFi | Corsair Vengeance Black RGB RS 64gb DDR4 3200MHz | MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Vanguard SOC 32GB | MP33 Pro 1TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD for OS | Samsung 870 QVO 2.5" 4TB SSD SATA2 | Samsung 990 PRO 2TB | Corsair RM1000X 2021 1300W 80 Plus Gold PSU | Antec Dark Fleet DF700 Flux Gaming Case | Win 11 home | Samsung 65" 4K TV | G512 Keyboard | Razer Basilisk V2 Mouse | WinCtrl URSA MINOR 32 Throttle Metal / 32 PAC Metal | WinCtrl Ursa Minor Sidestick |Velocity One Rudder | MiniCockpit FCU and EFIS | WinCtrl MCDU | Stream Deck XL | Tobii Eye Tracker | Pimax Crystal Light | Doug

I understand now, but hey In FSX at least a few extra frames is nice and I can also leave my Texturemaxload @ 1024 and suffer no visual loss of quality thanks to DSR MSI Codex 5 10SC-262UK Desktop PC - Intel Core i7-10700, RTX 2060 Graphics, 16GB RAM, 2TB HDD, 256GB SSD.
October 14, 201411 yr Its not set Globally, but all applications including your desktop will have the new resolutions available, so only in that sense is it global. If you don't change the resolution to one of the DSR modes in your games, or desktop, nothing will change. Thanks to the original poster for this tweak, its made a great difference to the "clarity" of the sim (P3D)on my display. However my experience is that when a DSR higher resolution is selected in the sim followed by ALT & ENTER for full screen my desktop changes also to the higher resolution - so is my monitor now running at a res greater than factory specs - Could this do any damage to the monitor. Hope not its a great tweak. Regards Brian
October 14, 201411 yr Could this do any damage to the monitor. Hope not its a great tweak. No, because its being downscaled to your native resolution before being sent to your monitor. I have only once had the res in P3D change my desktop, and I had to go through the nV control panel to change it back. Try going to the View menu in P3D and changing between fullscreen and windowed in that, rather than ALT+ENTER.

"I have only once had the res in P3D change my desktop," Same here exactly the same thing happened to me - thought it was going to be an on going thing but so far so good - fyi Guys just alt + enter is not enough - minimize P3D to the desktop then maximize it again that will get it working for yah Rich Sennett

October 15, 201411 yr Just a tip/head's up... before everyone starts claiming how smooth DSR has made their rig run, I think it's the driver version rather than DSR tweak. I installed the 344.24 drivers from 344.11 and my framerates have taken a noticeable jump, and I have not enabled DSR. It may be more of the fact that my framerates have smoothed out. Flights are smoother with less and almost no stuttering.

October 15, 201411 yr Commercial Member If what you see on screen is downsampled to the monitor's native resolution then why do screenshots come out to 2715 x 1527? (@2x native) Does that mean I did something wrong? I agree the driver is a keeper, I'm not currently using DSR but I'm keeping the driver for sure. I think I'm still happier with a little SGSS in Nvidia Inspector but I plan to do some experimenting with DSR yet.
October 15, 201411 yr Jim, it's b/c screen capture is taken by P3D which is actually rendering at 2715x1527 resolution. Nvidia driver downsamples it to 1080p and then sends to monitor. So this is the peculiar thing about DSR, that you can't do a normal screen capture at your monitor resolution. To do that you need special software or hardware. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
October 15, 201411 yr Can I get a reply from everyone who successfully installed this driver in Windows 8.1? I'm very happy with my current setup, but if I can run DSR to get rid of the jaggies and faster FPS and a smoother flight, I'm all for it... Just want to be sure it installs correctly in Windows 8.1 PC: AMD 9850X3D, RAM 64GB, Geforce GTX 5090 (32GB), MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024, Pimax Super 50PPD, Quest 3
October 15, 201411 yr Hi, thanks for all the Information here in this Thread. I have correctly installed the Driver and the ini File. Now my Question. I fly P3D 2.4 with a 2 Monitor Setup. My Monitor with Prepar 3D has a 1920 x 1080 Native Setup. Must I set this Monitor to a higher Resolution something like DSR 2715 x 1527 or can i leave the Settings normal and change only the Resolution in Prepar 3d Display Settings. Can I fly in Window Mode or must I fly in Full Screen Mode? Thanks Oliver
