November 6, 201411 yr would be great if they would add the HSI instead of just a heading indicator. The HSI will be a option you can use. They really should have showed that in this video Mike Avallone [email protected],Corsair H115i cooler,ASUS 2080TI,GSkill 32GB pc3600 ram, 2 WD black NVME ssd drives, ASUS maximus hero MB
November 6, 201411 yr Great observation Gregg and exactly what was observed during the test flights, the yoke pressures to move the controls alone is a wake up call to just how different this aircraft is.cheers,Lewis What I would *love* to see is, when you pull the prop lever back, the pilot gets, momentarily, subtly pushed back into the seat. Probably the only way to mimic the acceleration you feel when you do it in the real aircraft. I used to love that when we were on a downwind departure to the training area, pulling the knob back and...nice. It'd be just a little camera effect, just perfect for Accufeel. November 6, 201411 yr Um, perhaps because it is a video? So every single thread that features a video, to show or demonstrate something, should go in the "flight videos" section ?? I'm sure you'd agree that would be nonsense. Anyway, I'm sure we all agree than any new A2A release is good news; wherever some mod decides the 'need' to move the topic to.
November 6, 201411 yr So every single thread that features a video, to show or demonstrate something, should go in the "flight videos" section ?? But of course. And every thread that includes a screenshot needs to be moved to the screenshots forum. Nothing like having a rigid set of rules. Saves everyone having to think. Thankfully, there's a new video-less thread on the 182 running in the FSX forum. But still... c'mon, Avsim moderator friends. You can do better than this! November 7, 201411 yr I really like A2A, but I this is probably a pass for me as well. If pricing is similar to their other planes, that's a lot to spend on a slightly faster constant speed 172...ok, yes I know it's not really just a faster 172...but it kinda is when it comes to sim aircraft. A faster retractable single or twin in the 170-180 ktas speed range would be very welcome, however. If I didn't already have their superb 172, I'd be first in line! Chris
November 7, 201411 yr I really glad this plane is being released. I am about to switch to P3D, and already plan to buy another Cherokee license. I was hesitant about buying another 172 license as well, but this makes the decision clear... don't buy the 172 again... buy the 182 ONCE. Aaron Thacker
November 7, 201411 yr This will be a fun bird I have the carenado 182T but I don't like the g1000 ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170
November 8, 201411 yr I really glad this plane is being released. I am about to switch to P3D, and already plan to buy another Cherokee license. I was hesitant about buying another 172 license as well, but this makes the decision clear... don't buy the 172 again... buy the 182 ONCE. I have to admit that had I known what the roadmap was going to be, I would've probably passed on the 172 and waited for both the Cherokee and the 182. Bought the 172 mostly because I really wanted to see what A2A brought to the table for GA. Answer? A lot, but IRL the 172 was a plane I tolerated until I could move up to planes I simply enjoyed more, and so it is in the sim. I'll definitely get the 182, and at that point will probably never fly the 172 again. Not because it's a bad plane (it's not - it's a great plane and A2A have done a wonderful job at creating an accurate sim representation), but because - well - it's a 172. Scott
November 8, 201411 yr I have to admit that had I known what the roadmap was going to be, I would've probably passed on the 172 I actually prefer the 172 to the Cherokee, i would have liked A2A to do something a little more adventurous perhaps a Skymaster or the Caravan. Ian R Tyldesley
November 8, 201411 yr Good things come to those who wait. I guess we're on a journey with A2A's range, of which the 182 is only one stage. Can't wait to see what's next; hopefully that Bonanza or Comanche.
