Well, you know, "they" do not do much with the database, but its you the users, who can freely improve it (the "community" approach) ... Thtas what X-Plane Gateway is there for :

I think LR would get much contributions to the database if they made WED have an overview layer for tracing such as Bing, or even just OpenStreetMap. It's quite difficult at present to get an aerial image into WED just for tracing when you can't use a GeoTIFF, and involves running through hoops. I'm sure this puts people off. I've done a few airstrips in the UK, and in most cases I've had to create a grass poly in OverlayEditor, then open the scenery in WED, and replace it with the real runway.

I honestly feel it's there job and not the community, I am not even talking about the whole airports but just that when I type VAJJ I should get Juhu with at least the airstrips simple.

I'd say I partially agree here. It's good that LR have given the community the opportunity to update these and include them into X-Plane, but I also agree that it shouldn't be left to the community just to add basic missing airstrips into the simulator.

exactly.

Reasonable, acceptable performance with AMD/ATI cards.

Impossuble if they stay on OpenGL. With OpenGL  everything depends on the Card developer since they have to write the necessary OpenGL drivers. It is the bad quality of the ATI OpenGL drivers that you are complaining about.

If you would ask ATI they would simply tell you that they schold develoip in Mantle.

Hey no.

At least get me an updated apt.dat  that's fine.

As to the scenery I have not complains at all.

Well, we can argue whose job it is, but it's very simple using WED to add just the runways for a missing airport if that is all you want to do.  It would probably take all of 15 minutes to plop down the runways in the right spot, set the ICAO, elevation, a quick exclusion zone, and submit it. I find it only takes me about 4 hours total to create a single strip, small community airport with everything.  Most people might not want to go to that level, but I actually find it quite fun to create something that wasn't there before and then go fly around it.

I would rather LR spent their limited resources on more complicated coding tasks. Sure it would be nice if they could do everything, but at least they've provided a way for us to fill in the gaps.

Creating simple airports is not that hard. Give it a go, you might be surprised how much fun it is once you learn the basics of WED.

Nothing to argue here.

It's there job to do it simple.

I never said creating airports well that's a different story.

Improve runway friction and gravity effects. Aircraft tend to roll too far and unrealistically.

Wave heights should be memorized. Water landings can be a bit bumpy at the default 2 foot setting.

Some optional people/animal animations. Africa could use some elephants, lions, ............................................... Airports some people.

Faster load speed.

Automatic filing of custom scenery files for proper order.

Reprioritization of some things.  My simple mind cannot understand why the visibility code keeps getting pushed back.  I am holding off on investing any more time or money until this gets fixed.

It got pushed back since Ben realized that he would have trouble to meet the start of the beta phase of 10.30 while there were a lot of people waiting for the 10.30 features. And it would be totally crazy to push it in beforwe 10.40. Such a change would need a complete alpha and beta phase to be considered stable.

Flight planner and faster loading and more autogen art objects, better water, clouds. Will see improvements in 10.4 but I don't expect drastic improvements.

I forgot how much I hate the X-Plane 'push-pull-drag-whoops' system for making selections inside the VC that seem to haunt every payware aircraft in this platform. By comparison the Aerosoft Airbus is simplicity itself; left click to push, right click to pull and the mouse wheel for speedy selections. This is one single thing that makes flying in X-Plane a chore.

Gate space priority for the user's aircraft instead of over-lapping, conflicting aircraft - very ugly.

+1 to Airlin2Sim:
I hope the 'push-pull-drag-whoop' system will be changed

A little A2A Simulation maybe for X-Plane would really be fantastic.
