Ok, but i think it's better to uninstall the actual version of the aircraft, and make a clean install,

Thanks for the info

I would agree. This is our internal procedure on the beta teams as well.

Yes, those nasty .dlls play havoc with updates sometimes :)

Beech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?
ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry.

X-Plane 12 and MSFS2020  🙂

System specs: Windows 11  Pro 64-bit, Ubuntu Linux 20.04 i7-13700KF  Gigabyte Z790 RTX-4060-Ti , 32GB RAM  1X 2TB M2 for X-Plane 12,  1x256GB SSD for OS. 1TB drive MSFS2020

Green tip on the tail is P3D. Gold is FSX.

Thanks

Phew, that makes P3D a huge investment to gain a green tip on the tail lol. To be quite honest, I have watched many side by side u tube vids, on many occasions, I thought FSX actually looked better ?

Yeah. It's kind of annoying. People always give me a hard time for my phone, car, and computers being in 24H format. What really throws people off is the (analog) watch I wear being on Z time.

I used to explain my reasoning behind it (adding 4/5 hours to 24H format is a lot easier than remembering if I need to add 12 first, and then adding 4/5). Now, I just say "pilot..." and they usually drop it.

I can't stand 12h format. My watch has both times on it. I have 2 clocks on my computer. My GF never gets it when I say "it's 16:30".

Beauty certainly is in the eye of the beholder, that's for sure. So, if you can keep convincing yourself that, you'll save yourself some $$$. Personally though, once you see P3D, I don't really see how anyone could say this. My opinion of course again. :)

Ahahah yep for me it's the opposite.

I can't stand with 12 Hours clock's format...arghhh it's so annoying but when talking always say 4 "p.m."

It's 1842Z; 18:42 / 6.42 PM in my time and no update yet

I WANT IT SOOOO MUCHHHH

Perhaps someone could tell me -- and others who may be in the same position:

having purchased, but not yet installed FSX Steam Edition -- because I did not want to overwrite or otherwise mess up my 737NGX installation -- what sequence of actions should I undertake to take advantage of the looming release of SP 1d?  I appreciate the advice to do a clean install, but a clean install of what?  Thanks in advance!

Is the PMDG 1D:

Going to be a log into Past purchases section / redownloads or via the Download Updates section of the Precision manuals site?

Best Regards,

Vaughan Martell  PP-ASEL KDTW

Meh, some shadows n' stuff.  Looks is really not that much better... yet.  I plan to port everything over once the market is more open to P3D.  The added stability and future updates make it worth it.

Release the Beast!

In first place, you have to add a signature to your profile to be shown on your posts. The update PMDG will release is a full installer that you must download from your PMDG account. Uninstall the NGX from your pc, download the new installer (that comes with sp1d integrated) when PMDG releases it, and install it

Perhaps someone could clarify:

As someone who bought, but has not yet installed the FSX Steam Edition -- because I didn't want to mess up my 737NGX installation -- what sequence of actions should I now perform to take advantage of SP 1d, once it's finally released?  I appreciate the advice to "uninstall and then do a clean install," but a clean install of what?  After uninstalling what?

Many thanks, and sorry if this sounds ridiculously naive!

I'm confused... do I have to deinstall the 737 before installing the update (because it will come in the form of a new installer, and simply "repair" is not the best solution)?

I'm sure there will be nice detailed step-by-step description of how and what to install in a new thread when the SP is available to us.
