Carenado Navajo....bought it.

I'd says those of you who don't want realism, perhaps stick to the PlayStation or download a simple flying app for your phone? And leave the simulation to those that want and expect quality.

Don't get me wrong, wanting to have a plane to have fun with is not an admission of not wanting realism. As a rw pilot who knows exactly what the itt and torque gauges really do as you climb, I wish everyone could accurately simulate a 331 or a pt6. Not every simulated flight has to be spot on accurate for everyone, and I'm sure that's the market segment Carenado are shooting for. I also wish they would price them accordingly, but they will charge what people will pay. I fly a2a, realair, flysimware, and Majestic 90% of the time,

The other 10% is spilt between things like Carenado and Project cars on my PS4. I'll do whatever it takes to have fun, even if its not 100% realistic!

Based on that though, nothing is real or happening in FS so why bother putting ANY instruments in the cockpit? The whole thing is simulating something based on real life so why not correct ITT operation?

There -are- characteristics that are modeled into FSX, so that is why there are appropriate instruments. The two arguments raging here are: if its not there, at least fake it so it appears its there -vs- why pay much attention to faking it as it's not really there. I am not arguing one side or the other, just pointing out that what was said was no more "embarrassing" to some than faking it is to others. That 's all. I don't find either argument to be worthy of bashing a developer over. Perhaps, and hopefully, the next generation of PC based flight simulators will more accurately model more characteristics like ITT.

I have to add, the RealAir Turbine Duke ITT temperatures also go down as you go up. Carenado is not the only one hobbled by this problem.

And I could care less about perfection in simulating ITT with precision, just as I don't get too concerned about accurately portraying rich of peak and lean of peak. I know all about this rich/lean peak stuff from the real life side, and see it being somewhat argued at another forum now. In reality, it could be a sim within itself, if someone is that concerned about it. Same with GPS, etc, etc.

Anyone with some aeronautical knowledge would soon realise some Carenado aircraft have FDE's that are no better then default fs98 aircraft. Anyone without aeronautical knowledge could soon spend a few minute researching an aircraft then would reach the same conclusion.

I bought 10 fs9 aircraft on sale for around $3-4 each and seriously doubt they're worth any more then that. Having flown a real aircaft, some freeware aircraft feel more realistic.

Carenado develop add-ons for the 'eye candy' crowd. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Since I'm a real world pilot with time in the Piper Navajo, I can tell you that your wrong. The Carenado Navajo handles a lot like the real thing.

Good to hear that David.  Even though I've never really flown the Navajo, I really like the feel of this Carenado version.  I've been in Flight Simulation for at least 15 years now.   This hobby is for fun and relaxation....as well as attempting to be very realistic.

That is actually rather encouraging to hear about the Carenado Navajo.  I put a lot of value in what real pilots with time in the type have to say about a flightsim aircraft.

Will there ever be a thread on this forum about a Carenado product that isn't hijacked by anti-Carenado crusaders? Ok we got it, they don't make PMDG quality products, lots of their products were released with serious bugs, they focus more on "eye candy" than realism. I think it has been repeated enough on these forums that the whole world knows. Have you guys ever considered that some people still enjoy their aircraft despite these points? Just because you have bad experiences with their aircraft doesn't mean that everyone else does. I'm tired of every single Carenado thread getting hijacked by people complaining about Carenado, let people enjoy the product they paid for.

Thanks for chiming in there David. I did a few approaches at KSEA last night after I bought it and I think they did an excellent job.

I hope not, I hope the community continues to have the balls to call out companies that produce sloppy products.  It's less about realism, more about the appearance that they just don't give a ####.

If they produced pretty but simplified products of reasonable build quality, no-one would care.

Agreed.  If Carenado charged in the $15-$20 range, I doubt we would hear the crescendo of anti-Carenado sentiment.  Heck....they would probably sell more at that price point.  I know I would buy.

This is behind the desk flight simming. It doesn't take any ***** to do so.................if you know what I mean.

Eh?

I assume you mean "there's nothing physically at stake, therefore the quality of the product doesn't matter"?

If so, well... I quite like not getting ripped off.  Don't you?

Some of you here were forced to purchase and then claim "rip off", correct?

I don't think Tom would have allowed this thread to go this far. As a long time member, I recommend locking it or delete it. I should have known better to comment. Don
