Who is waiting for V3 compliant installers?

Featured Replies

Reading the various forums, many people seem to be shoehorning most of the V2 addons into V3 where possible.  As far as I know there is only a very small handful actually 'V3 Ready' as yet?

I've installed the following :

PMDG 777 and 737

FTX Global

FSUIPC

ASN

REX 4 (which I shouldn't have, but only realised afterwards.  I have a massive sun looming over me and I didn't backup any textures - my bad.)

What's everyone else's approach.  Are you all waiting for new installers?

No Rex yet for me. I have same as you just A2A Cherokee and Skylane Flightbeams KDEN FSDT Gsx My Traffic 6 and OpusFsi oh and Ezdok.

I am waiting for all the installers to be out of  beta before even  thinking about installing V3. This version of P3D is only a couple of weeks old, which to me is brand new software. If they issue a couple of patches, which are certain to be released in the coming months, nobody really knows what effect that will have on  the add ons that are being shoe horned into the program currently. I think in a few months, everyone will have a much clearer idea of how to properly install their favorite add ons into V3, without running into issues down the line.

I am waiting for ORBx and REX Essential Plus SP3 installers, and I am considering what to do with Earth Simulations products (which install textures and sounds into the core sim folders). I already have working beta versions of SIM720 installers, and I have successfully installed all of my other scenery addons and utilities. That includes items that have been installed in folders that LM would prefer are avoided, but I am more interested in getting stuff working than following new rules.

It does appear that even some of the products that have v3 installers are having  issues so I am waiting. I've only installed My TrafficX as the developer said it will be some time before he will provide an installer. MyTrafficX can be installed manually so it also can be easily removed. I am exploring/learning v3 and flying in FSX and P3Dv2.

See the A2A website for an Accu-sim update released for their aircraft. ORBX have just released their trees installer for v3. I'm just waiting for a new installer for Vector and things should be back to normal.

Same here. With FTX Vector, FTX Global and ASN the world seems at least half normal.

I am waiting for proper v3 installers. It is possible that if I forced non-v3 compliant add-ons into the platform that it might not perform as well as it should. It always amuses me when people to "shoehorn" add-ons into a platform and then complain about the platform's performance. What do you expect?

+1

I saw a post on the Majestic Q400 forum this morning where someone was saying that the Q400 worked with V3. and the moderator then stated that " It will work, but it is not perfect"  which could mean anything....

Just so everyone knows (I didn't at first): you can also download a v3 ready full installer from your A2A account for every plane you bought there. I did that when I did a complete reinstall of Windows 10 and P3D v3. Didn't want to fool around with an old installer and then updating it. If you bought the plane elsewhere contact the vendor if they already uploaded the newest installer. They should have by now.
