Who is waiting for V3 compliant installers?

Featured Replies

Just so everyone knows (I didn't at first): you can also download a v3 ready full installer from your A2A account for every plane you bought there.

Oh i didn't know that, i installed the Comanche (old installer) and ran the Updater, it seems fine,  in saying that though i will install again with new installer

Waiting for installers here. I take this delay as an opportunity to revisit some base airplanes, try product that don't need installers like woai, free mesh, boat trafic and practice IFR approach in cloud with steam gauge (scenery is irrelevant for those scenarios).

Had installed rhe base stuff I need including FSUIPC, Spad (still used for long press of buttons on Saitek radio panel), Linda (all other buttons, switches and special Lua routines) then EZCA. FTX Global is fine and A2A Cherookee. More than I need to have fun.

Always have a list of things I want to test or install but generally not enough time free. So that's a perfect opportunity to work on my setup at the beginning of the sim season (real Cherookee will be winterized soon.....expecting first snow today here in Canada).

P3D when its freezing in Quebec....well, that's most of the time...
C-GDXL based at CYQB for real flying when its warming up...

I am still waiting for triple installers for some of my Orbx addons for v2, so anyone who is waiting for all the Orbix stuff to be v3 "compatible" may have a very long wait indeed.

I have installed many of the Orbx regions and airports with no problems. There are very easy ways to do it with no registry editing necessary. You can find the details out there if you want to. Once Orbx issues enough v3 installers for me to be happy with the number of them I will do a re-install of v3 and use those installers. Until then, I am enjoying the sceneries instead of waiting.

My Cherokee 180 download file link still refers to "P3D v2.0". I assume that this is not the updated version that is compatible with v3?

The only thing I've held off installing due to "lack of dedicated v3 installer" is FTX SoCal, lol.

Same here. With FTX Vector, FTX Global and ASN the world seems at least half normal.

I have a sneaky suspicion the reason we are waiting for Vector is that they will release Vector 1.30 at the same time as the P3D v3 installer. Vector 1.30 has been in Beta for a little while now.

+1

I saw a post on the Majestic Q400 forum this morning where someone was saying that the Q400 worked with V3. and the moderator then stated that " It will work, but it is not perfect"  which could mean anything....

I have actually been doing a lot of flying in the Q400 in v3 with no issues that I can tell.. I think they say that mainly to avoid having to commit to support where they have not had a chance to thoroughly test yet.

What I don't understand is why they are still now releasing the triple installers, just yesterday a whole slew of them came out, I would think at this point all installer development should go towards the "Quad installers" for P3Dv3 support as well. Otherwise they are only going to be re-doing a whole lot of work again down the line...

++++++++++P3D v3 ANNOUNCEMENT++++++++++
*************************************************************
The Q400 is not yet supported on the Prepar3D V3.0 platform. Although it is possible to fly the aircraft, the known issues are:
1. No cabin sound
2. Stuttering of the aircraft from the outside view when in the air
There are are few other tweaks and adjustments that will be required before testing for the new installer is completed.
When the appropriate fix becomes ready we will publish the announcement. Questions of the release date/time frame will be ignored.

But he isn't getting those issues, apparently, and he is hardly the only person. It is like so many things in this hobby. Some systems run things better than others. I had a terrible time with P3D v2 when others where having no trouble at all. I am having great performance with almost all the Orbx airports in v3 that have v2 installers (except for Squamish which isn't displaying all the trees or buildings, so I don't use that one). Others are no doubt having issues. It comes down to how adventurous you feel like being. Worst case scenario is to just do a clean re-install and start again!

1. I don't generally fly from the cabin or use cabin views, so this is not an issue for me, although on testing, I do in fact have full (engine) sounds in those views, so not sure what Majestic mean.

2. Stuttering if in SPOT view, switch to LOCKED SPOT (my preference for all airplanes) and I have no issues. I think P3D v3 has normal spot view as the default rather than locked spot.

You are quite right.

Pilot Edition or Pro Edition ;)

I just ran a flight today in the Q400 in V3 from FT EKCH to Aerosoft's ENGM using ASN, MT6, Orbx, GSX (both dep/arr) my very high graphics settings ... incredible experience, no major issues.  Visibility at EKCH was very bad... lucky it was departure.

Now, lets see LEIB to EKCH next up in the Q.

Cheers, Rob.

Pilot edition I didn't think Pro was out yet for the Q400!

I am in fact currently barrelling along at 420kt groundspeed (that's 778km/h!!) from Invercargill to Wellington as NZ5565 at 25,000ft. No problems at all! And not bad speeds for a turboprop!
