October 19, 201510 yr Commercial Member Flight 1 got my money for the fsx version but I am holding of for the pd3 version because I see no sense in having to pay full price again. RealAir only charges 12 bucks to update new PD3 version of the Duke if you already have the fsx version. And then there is that 777 for 150 bucks,,,why? With P3D, some add-on devs are having to go back and re-work tricky custom interfacing to the sim's internals, and then re-test everything nearly every time Lockheed Martin produces an update. So I look at it as paying them for their work to keep it running with a platform that's actually evolving, and that seems fair to me. FSX is mighty stable...but stuck in time. If I know that an add-on relies on clever, innovative ways of lashing up with the core simulation to work, it's clear to me that a constantly-changing core platform is going to require some work. Now, OTOH, if all we're talking about is repackaging already-developed software with a different installer and/or minor changes, paying again does feel like gouging. So for the GTN750 and the PMDG birds, I know enough to put them in the former category, and so far outfits like ORBX and FSDreamteam, among others, are being quite reasonable in porting their stuff over to (various versions of) P3D. FWIW, I remember paying more for a dual-version of some of the PMDG birds for FS9+FSX back in the day, too. Personally, I'm glad to have the choice. October 19, 201510 yr +1 w6kd...What would we do if the Dev said " Am out"? Sure some one else would come along and we have to make another choice to buy or not. Reality Xp to GTN 750, Radar contact to ProAtc, FSX weather and clouds to ASN,Opus,Rex clouds.. The GTN 750 is high priced but I see it as the cost of moving forward and I can choose if Iwant to pay for it..Am glad we have a place to share our opinion. October 19, 201510 yr I'd like to even get the new GTN750 for v3 working. Downloaded the new installer, run the exe and it says run out of activations (only ever done one!) So go the reactivate route and it says can't find order number - Which I'd copied in from purchase confirmation. So raise a ticket on F1 - so far no response - maybe I'm not the only one . . .
