March 25, 201610 yr Author All good mate, Thanks for the info, now understood. Think I'll switch them both off. Cheers Mike

March 25, 201610 yr When you have both off... do you not get a weird visibility issue at FL300 + in ASN?I've just followed your videos and tried both off and above FL300 theres really high visibility and also a kind of light white haze layer over the ground?

March 25, 201610 yr If it is about performance, it presumably would not hurt to change the texture size not only for the cloud shadows, but also for the ground shadows, from 2048 to 1024. But haven't tested that yet. But actually with each newer version of P3D, we should be at a point, where we do not need to tweak the prepar3d.cfg anymore. But the opposite appears to be the case to make addons conform. Regards, Chris -- PC: Intel 13900K, Gigabyte Geforce RTX 4090, 64GB Fury Beast DDR5 RAM; Display: Varjo Aero VR
March 25, 201610 yr So when you say Multiple visibility layers on/off, do you mean the cloud layers setting in ASN? Jason Weaver - WestWind Airlines; FlyUK Airlines; VirtualUnited.org
March 25, 201610 yr So when you say Multiple visibility layers on/off, do you mean the cloud layers setting in ASN? No he's talking about the new features in the ASN open beta. Daniel Moser
March 25, 201610 yr Roger. didn't download that yet. Jason Weaver - WestWind Airlines; FlyUK Airlines; VirtualUnited.org
March 25, 201610 yr Author Can anybody else confirm what rdtv91 has posted about white haze layer over ground with both multiple visibility layer and volumetric fog? Will also test myself later tonight Cheers Mike
March 25, 201610 yr Hi everybody and friends  Lots of issues here ? why not just go back to 59.19 ? i cant seem to find any issues there. Cloud layers at 5 (you keep talking about 3 ? ) and 8x MSAA (no SGSAA) or 4 XMSAA almost as good ? Michael Moe What´s the foss ? Michael Moe
March 25, 201610 yr Author I just did a test and turning off both vol did and multiple visibility layers causes haze throughout. I am using asn 5926 beta and have volumetric fog on and multiple visibility layers off Which stays at one layer . And to eliminate haze Runnin 4xsgss 2 Titans in sli Quite happy with that Cheers Mike
March 25, 201610 yr So volumetric fog on and multiple visibility layers off work now with the new beta without fps hit? Regards, Chris -- PC: Intel 13900K, Gigabyte Geforce RTX 4090, 64GB Fury Beast DDR5 RAM; Display: Varjo Aero VR
March 25, 201610 yr Commercial Member Oh god, this "off on" debate is so confusing that I even don't wanna update ASN to the latest beta patch to try it. Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.
March 25, 201610 yr The fps hit is only little with volumetric fog on and multiple visibility layers off, as long as the cloud size is not modified away from the default value in the cloud.fx file.
March 25, 201610 yr But in cloud.fx that's only the values in line 311 (default = value 0.5) - right? Regards, Chris -- PC: Intel 13900K, Gigabyte Geforce RTX 4090, 64GB Fury Beast DDR5 RAM; Display: Varjo Aero VR
