What a rough bunch of negative posts.  This is flight school which needs to be simplified and not extravagant as most would know it with weather, AI, ATC, etc. The target market, those new to flight s

Sorry, but you and others here seem to operate with a binary logic. Basically you are reducing the field of options to a either...OR matter.  If DTG Flight Simulator will be considered acceptably good

Well, DT has to leave room for 3rd parties to inject, so there won't be major changes due to the just mentioned reasons.

Despite that, I suggest DT to improve clouds to start from, to be honest there is huge gap between a decent cloud coverage aka overcast and what we see in these new screnshots.

The point here is, how much room DT wants to leave room for third party to sell their products based on DT platform ?

-- The more room is left the less the product will be bettered, for obvious and already mentioned reasons.--

As previously stated by DTG, Flight School is a closed environment. .ie No 3rd party addons.

Hi everyone, just a quick thing of note.

The preview versions that we sent out are just that, previews. They are not a final build of DTG Flight School. As such the file structure is currently set out for development, not release. Long story short, expect some changes in the way the sim is installed upon release compare to what you see now.

Please do not tell me that addon scenery folder will be deleted in final build !!!!!!!!!!!   :Shame On You:  :Shame On You:

Nice Video:

Any landing you can walk away from is a good one

That looks better. Still some stutters during maneuvers and some obvious popup but it was quite smooth.

Didn't think much of the ground textures. I would have preferred to see the Cherokee.

I haven't seen anything yet that I would consider innovative.

The landing is the worst part of the video. LOL

Yes, lots of popups, but same as other simulators, i guess we will never get rid of that. I found it Really smooth, some stutters are normal.

Giving for granted that "a 1000 x performance boost and no OOMs" is probably an emotional overstatement and an intentional amplification (also FSX, FSX-SE and P3D have no OOMs and show a very good performance even maxed out as long as used vanilla) and taking into account that the real test will be on the real simulator, even so it is still a promising review.

That it is FSX-SE on steroids is no surprise. Whatever will be based on ESP will always be an FSX on steroids. Period.

I am confident, probably because I never had unrealistic expectations. The most valuable asset, in my view, is DTG itself. While they clearly have still much to learn, they are also improving shot after shot as they listen to the community. Something we never had with Microsoft.

While I would tend to agree. This was just posted in one of the FB groups I follow. He said that he tried his best to break it, not sure what process he used to try, but it just kept on soaking up VAS and trucking on.

Let me guess.... you want 64bit.

Thanks for posting Josh.

The simple reading of that figure, 5,122,040 K, is so refreshing :-)

The aircraft and shadow/lighting effects are nice. But the scenery is so ugly. Looks centuries old. I tend to reinstall MSFlight :(

Well, not really. The "other" major civilian flight simulator doesn't show this kind of shifting terrain or the blurred runway pop-in while landing.

64-bit RAM space should allow much higher res textures and distant views without pop-in, if you have enough system RAM. But I guess we'll see full integration and use of RAM space later on, with the DTG FS.

I don't think we should accept stutters as normal either, although this does look a lot smoother than the last video (the official demo).

You mean P3D? I see lots of those flying around.

X-plane, on the other hand, has almost fixed it. It´s way better adressing those issues.

Sure, but unfortunately, they are present in every modern game. Maybe DX12 will save us, making the communication between CPU and GPU more efficient.
