It wont be much different than what you see in these videos - anyone thinking it will is in for a rude awakening - heck they are suppose to launch it pretty soon so how would all of these changes be made in such a short time - impossible - they would have to start all over

    What a rough bunch of negative posts.  This is flight school which needs to be simplified and not extravagant as most would know it with weather, AI, ATC, etc. The target market, those new to flight s

    Sorry, but you and others here seem to operate with a binary logic. Basically you are reducing the field of options to a either...OR matter.  If DTG Flight Simulator will be considered acceptably good

Ok,

I like the aircraft, both of them... and the apparent modeling of the physics of flight ( based on the videos );

I like the colors;

I like the clouds and the weather effects I've seen so far;

I like the scenery and not having to pay for an always excellent but usually expensive ORBX product;

I like the idea of going through a set of missions and progressing through my PPL course...;

I like it being what I have long wished FSX could be - 64 bit, and DX11;

I like it being a game, just like FSX or DCS or X-Plane;

So.... I really like what I've seen so far !

+ I like the way you stated what you like.

+ I like the fact that DTG & LM & X-Plane for that matter are doing something to keep the hobby alive.

Savvy words.

Finally someone who is trying to look at this new release(s) in a positive view. Instead of feeding the ongoing stupid bickering between P3D and FSX users, we should be glad that the flight simulation world is finally doing a step forward. LM will react with something new and more advanced in the future, maybe X-Plane will do the same and so on. We need to attract more users and more resources to this market, that's the real thing!

I'm not to fond of the fact in this Flight School world people sound like robots. I wonder if there's a technical reason for the synthesized voices of the ATC system.

It's probably because that makes it much easier to localize the sim for different language versions.

His landing was better. :) However GPS navigation needs a bit more work as apparently he landed at Redhill according to a comment. He's a beginner so this is not entirely surprising.

Give people power to really test their personality.

I do really like the UI, it's much better than what we currently have in our current batch of sims. X-Plane and P3D could certainly do with some UI-love, and I think some devs underestimate how much of a difference it actually makes

What I'd like in flight school is the ability to purchase ORBX's UK scenery and airports, but I know there aren't going to be third-party addons for it. As nice as FTX global is, it doesn't look very good in the UK.

Flight school looks like it is going to serve its purpose and is simple and I'm certain it's going to attract some new users (even those who post ,retard' 'retard' comments under airbus videos on YouTube)

I will for sure entertain myself quite a lot with it, of that I am almost absolutely sure!

It's going to be a great preview of the good things to come with DTG Flight Sim, and a welcome fresh air that will somehow remind me, with the training missions, of what kept me playing MS FLIGHT like an addict when I installed it in 2011 - the sim that actually brought me back to flight simulation!

Indeed the missions and the Jobs in MSFlight was the most fun part.

Also Aerocache hunt was fun and trained navigation abilities.

I hope DTG will put in something similar that keeps it alive and interesting.

Anyway they have a lot work to do. For Flight School as well as for the full sim.

I'm not blown away by what I'm seeing, but I didn't expect to be based on what we had seen up to this point. What I really dislike is the shape and darkness of the cumulus clouds, which look constantly stormy and highly unrealistic. I really hope this changes before release.

Otherwise it seems like a good product for its target market and price point. You are getting quite a lot for your 12GBP's and I am looking forward to messing around with it when it arrives.

No realistic ATC, no realistic AI, no AI at all from what I've seen...

Quote is wrong, that's from Novation, sorry my fault.

Many aspects can be bettered and somehow probably they will, but I agree that clouds come straight from early '90 era game where 8 bit was the rule. DT FS clouds are simply out of order and unwatchable in 2016, also in late '90 they would have been unwatchable.

Same speech for the wx engine that simply doesn't exists.

If in the full simulator clouds will remain the same it will remind me when I was fiddling with pcs in 1991  :smile:  what a nostalgia  :smile:

I assume therefore that's intended by DT the usage of such ugly clouds, to allow REX to inject their own ones in a payware addon.

Ok, from a business perspective it might have some sort of sense but these FS clouds are really awful, ugly and totally out of order.

What a fun ride! It was more icing than lack of fuel (lack of handling), but it was nice seeing him almost be able to land that thing with little to no experience in that condition. :smile:

Everything so far I've seen about the modeling and handling is good. It's just the outside environment that needs a lot of coarse and fine tuning.

All the people who've released videos and screenshots are using Preview Alpha Build. Give them time, it's not even in Beta yet.
