June 2, 201610 yr Commercial Member We tried - to do it on the scale of a whole airplane like this is going to take official support from the XP graphics engine. The FlightFactor 767 and a one-man project Pilatus do reflections with a plugin. I hope they figure out how to implement this in XP11. They know how to do it -- but some years ago Ben stated they want realtime reflections instead of the fake reflections FSX is using. Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir
June 2, 201610 yr Well, if you can start it  (just kidding, the automated start procedure look very well done, makes me think of automated starts in Fly!2) Actually with the help of my German Engineer, I was able to start it up, take off and do a sight seeing tour around Portland, then do a pretty fine landing back at KPDX. The DC-6 is very easy to control and hand flies like a dream. Maybe tomorrow I'll have a chance to do a nice flight with her. Does PMDG know X-Plane, or what!?....Looking at this DC-6, I would say that they are right at home with X-Plane. I love this airplane! Robert Yunque PilotEdge Ratings = CAT-11 (2016-09-13) I-11 (2016-10-23) V-3 (2016-08-01)

I really like how easy it is to manipulate the rudder trim wheels. 4790K @4.9GHz, 32GB DDR3, 1080Ti, W10-64bit
June 2, 201610 yr Agreed great pic! Which shows a big downside of XP10 - shiny metal (or even dirty) surfaces....aka a lack thereof. I hope they figure out how to implement this in XP11. If that's the case I'll pass.
June 2, 201610 yr If that's the case I'll pass. Sorry to hear, you're missing out. 4790K @4.9GHz, 32GB DDR3, 1080Ti, W10-64bit

Hi Ryan the Challenger 300 has by far the best reflections for now. Check it out. But yes real environment reflections would be way cool, maybe in xp11. By developing on Linux you could get the other os almost for free. See my previous postings about open standards and saving development time.
June 2, 201610 yr Not bad PMDG ... a fair start but not yet a *game-changer* to paraphrase an over-used expression. Great sounds; always love the sound of a radial and now I have four of them in unison! I think it's a good addition to X-Plane and I'm happy that there's another developer putting out a quality product. Now for your next product may I suggest you do a study level sim of the Otter and the turbo Otter and I'll sing your name from the roof tops.
June 2, 201610 yr We tried - to do it on the scale of a whole airplane like this is going to take official support from the XP graphics engine. Would this be of any help? He makes it sound relatively easy, but I'm not a developer so I'm not sure.

June 2, 201610 yr What would be a "game changer" in your opinion? Just to interject, there are some areas that can be improved upon in the -6. Textures being the biggest one IMHO then the sound. 4790K @4.9GHz, 32GB DDR3, 1080Ti, W10-64bit
June 2, 201610 yr What would be a "game changer" in your opinion? I actually think it's a polished and laudable module Mario and is a high standard. My comment was largely tongue in cheek aimed at those posts that use that term in conjunction with PMDG's entry into X-Plane. All of that aside, I'm happy with the module and I bought it to support PMDG in X-Plane. The D6 is definitely study sim level and will do splendidly as my frontier cargo plane ... I'm a bush flier @ heart . My reference to the study-sim level of an Otter though was very serious! P.S. Just noticed a burst of static every time I change views ... not a biggie and I'm sure it'll get ironed out.

June 2, 201610 yr Ok ... been flying a bit longer and she is definitely in my stable of must have aircraft. Many nuances, I look forward to exploring her secrets. Re the sounds in general ... I think they're just awesome!
