  • Welcome to the X-Plane world PMDG team!  She is a real beauty, and from what I've seen so far the level of detail and love put into it by the developers is amazing, I can already tell it has a "soul"

  • Absolutely, it also doesn't make you entitled to any product regardless of what your opinion is.

X-plane in general still suffers from the too small in the sim market to matter for most of the big sim developers, so i know your pain. Just in the last year this has started to change and now we see the fruits. Maybe in 5 years we have a large enough userbase that companies are willing to take more bets in regards to linux and it will be win/mac/linux compatible for all ;)

Yes this would be a win win situation for everyone.

I think this will save Xplane, as its the 1st study sim plane for Xplane which will draw a lot of simmers.

I don't think X-Plane needs saving, it's been running along for quite a while now under its own steam. I'm sure though that you are right about it drawing a lot of simmers of a certain demographic who might now be willing to venture farther than the Microsoft/Lockheed castle which can only help the cause. Quite how many will be tempted will be interesting to see.

i7 7700k, @ 4.6Ghz. GTX1070 8Gig. 32Gigs DDR4 2400. Win 10 pro. X-Plane 11.

I wouldn't quite go that far! For instance the FlyJsim 737-200, 727-200 I would consider study sim plane, IXEG is close if they incorporate the missing systems they acknowledge, I most definitely think they would qualify.

Thanks

Let us keep in mind this is PMDG's first shot at the XP platform which I think is no easy task. Just because they do have quite of experience developing for the other sims doesn't mean their first shot with XP will go as far as the other ones, we will have to wait and see.

What an absurd statement. XP has already several "study sims". This won't bring that many new simmers as you seem to think. Definitely not as much as the IXEG 733.

I agree and Take Command!: Saab 340A is another study sim plane too.

No "Internet Connection" mentioned on the page so I guess the DRM will be the old serial number method.

That page is just about the product. If you go to the purchase information in the PMDG shop you will find the requirements for purchase and yes, Internet connection is required

Hmm no linux support = no PMDG support. Ludicrous when x-plane runs natively in Linux.

Oh well, lucky for us that devs who can't be bothered with Linux are very few in number.

Regards Pete

Well, you know what they say at that "other" forum...............................Something along the lines of linux users being such a very small percentage, that the numbers are just not there.

People who produce these products, do have to eat, you know!   Anyway, make your case, if it makes you feel better.
