January 9, 20179 yr Exactly. At least knowing what they are working on, what are they trying to improve the most and so on. Something. .....you mean like another survey? Cheers, Geoffrey Easton
January 9, 20179 yr .....you mean like another survey? No, they got plenty of informations from us. And years of wishlists. I want to know what THEY are working on. Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."
January 9, 20179 yr No, they got plenty of informations from us. And years of wishlists. I want to know what THEY are working on. You will never know what they are working on. You will see it when they release the product (alpha, beta, final). But you are right. It would be great if they give us a list of features which they want to put in the simulator. Until the first videos or screenshots I have the feeling we have to wait and hope they are rocking it.
January 9, 20179 yr Well, not necessary. For example time ago they mentioned they were working on something scenery related. But it was vague. We can only wait =/ Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."
January 9, 20179 yr Yes, you are right. Need to wait. I am still happy that a company wants to create a simulator and I think that won't be a vaporware like the NGIS one. Hopefully not.
January 9, 20179 yr The only way that DTG will not release a detailed flight simulator during 2017 is if there ends up being legal action involving Lockheed Martin, Microsoft and DTG. That would be very messy, so I doubt that it is even a remote possibility.
January 10, 20179 yr The only way that DTG will not release a detailed flight simulator during 2017 is if there ends up being legal action involving Lockheed Martin, Microsoft and DTG. That would be very messy, so I doubt that it is even a remote possibility. Hm..... don't think so because LM has bought the codes and only the licence for training, education and other commercial things. That means LM is not allowed to develope the simulator for entertainment. That also means most people are using P3D in an illegal way because they are using that product for their fun and not for flight training. Because of this DTG has bought the code and the license for entertainment and not for the flight training and so on like LM. The only simulator based on the FSX code for the mass (entertainment/fun) is the one from DTG and not from LM/P3D. If there are legal issues, DTG haven't released FSX:SE.
January 30, 20179 yr VATSIM user here: Are there any plans for compatibility with VATSIM/IVAO? I know you said there'd be multiplayer, but 1) if your multiplayer environment is anything like the non-serious FSX "multiplayer" environment (not counting VATSIM/IVAO), with 10 people flying Air Force 1 at any given airport and yelling smack-talk at each other, we more "realistic" multiplayer users will need compatibility with other platforms, and 2) even if this isn't an issue, one key feature that is really important for compelling multiplayer air-traffic simulations is the density of traffic and ATC coverage, and it really helps to aggregate the users of various flight simulators (FSX:SE, P3D, XP, and even FS9) into one air-traffic environment for the sake of having a meaningful number of other planes. As a follow-up to that last question, I will ask about model matching (that is, the ability of my flight simulator to correctly display the same type of aircraft--and airline livery, if applicable--that another pilot is actually using in multiplayer). For FS9/FSX on VATSIM, we can just download the World of AI model set (or some other model set) and use those models. How much attention will be paid to multiplayer model matching in DTG Flight Simulator, especially being incompatible with World of AI's massive database? (Also, will DTG contain such a real-world AI database?)Speaking of the backward compatibility issue (I know that old addons will not be compatible "right out of the box"), one question I have is, "Is there any hope of portover-ability?" As in, the way some addons from FS9 were portable to FSX with various changes by the developers? I hear you telling the people with massive FSX addon collections, "Don't worry--we'll still support FSX:SE if you have a great, tricked-out install of FSX:SE and don't want to make the switch." In my opinion, this is a HUGE business mistake--if you have to tell a significant portion of the market to stick with their old-but-highly-upgraded sim because your new sim isn't better, then you are doing something Microsoft never did, and for good reason: You are creating a product that is not better than what they already have, for what they want to do with it. Might want to rethink that one, perhaps by engineering a portover utility to aid in the conversion of older addons to your newer standard
February 22, 20179 yr What's the scuttlebutt on DTG Flight Simulator these days? It's been three months since an official update, where is the game at now? Does anybody know?

February 22, 20179 yr Also interested, would happily replace my FSX with DTGFS, if it's worthy. Same here but with X Plane 11/Prepar3d v4 on the immediate horizon it's become less tempting to wait. With zero information or screenshots released since its announcement it's hard to be optimistic about its current state.

People have been complaining about the same things for years. I don't think I'll bother with version 11 until I see some significant additions...maybe 11.5. P3D v4 is just as much a mystery as this DTG sim with dreams of 64bit but no announcements; LM seems to be more secretive then anyone. Then we have this AeroFly sim that showed up and it's pretty cool, but needs a lot of work. So my point being...in the end we'll be waiting and I doubt that any single simulator will meet every need or wish we have. That's why I have FSX-SE, XPX, AeroFly FS 2, and DCS installed on my system. I run the sim that has what I feel like flying/doing; I doubt that will change. Jim Shield Cybersecurity Specialist

Xp11 off course still in beta - and quite smooth if it is crawling like molasses - is time for a new system- i fly it full setting and steady on 30 to 40 fps - mind you - the Pc is new - and up to the job - .
