August 16, 20169 yr Commercial Member I'm pretty certain this Flight1 unit is in fact a Mindstar unit rebranded. I'm absolutely certain you're wrong. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
August 16, 20169 yr I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the navdata from the GTN can be used with the GNS Since the Flight1 GTN and GNS gauges are both based on the respective Garmin Trainers, that is a pretty safe bet.. Bert
August 17, 20169 yr I undock my GTN 650 with zero impact on FPS and can even make it any size I want. in P3D V3.3 I assume Then there is hope.... that it could work for me... too. Hmmm... I shouldn't give up then, Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

August 17, 20169 yr Since the Flight1 GTN and GNS gauges are both based on the respective Garmin Trainers, that is a pretty safe bet.. Are we sure that the GNS is using the Garmin trainer? If so it's a great indication that this will be a pretty good likeness. <p>Dassault Falcon, Lear, Embraer and Challenger and Cessna Mechanic.Broadcasting live from former Soviet Missile Silo.Rhys Legge

October 4, 20169 yr Can someone here instruct me how to integrate my GNS 530 into the panel seamlessly? I configured the unit using the F1 Configurator but the GNS 530 pops up as an overlay window covering a lot of real estate of the panel. I can resize it but it still does not become a part of the panel. I even tried changing the panel.cfg but without success. Has anyone done it? Volker

Which airplane are you trying to install it into? BTW, here is where you get support: http://www.simforums.com/Forums/f1-gtn-gns-series-support-forum_forum54.html Bert
October 4, 20169 yr How do you guys cope with the lack of navdata? Sure would make it useless for me. Cheers Steve Hall

Volker I succeeded installing the GNS530 both into the VC and as 2D window in Carenado Dornier Do228 and Aerocommander 500S Shrike. However, please be advised that this requires a little manual tweaking for the moment. The current configurator replaces the RXP gauge correctly, however it fails to properly insert the "ident=" number into the panel.cfg file. As confirmed by Flight1, they are working on an update that should solve this soon. If you have some experience with panels, however, you can do everything manually without the help of the configurator. Now, apart from this, I can state that the gauge itself is working like a charm and I am removing several GTN750 mods from my GA aircraft to make them more "realistic" with this gauge. I also hope that Flight1 will implement crossfill in the future. It is really expensive, but worth ever cent.
October 5, 20169 yr We get newer navdata ....and where might one get this without mortgaging the house? I though this needed genuine Garmin navdata? Are you saying it doesn't? Cheers Steve Hall
October 5, 20169 yr You can use data from garmin trainer updates... typically from the GDU 620/GTN PC Trainer. Or recently expired navdata. October 5, 20169 yr barrel_owl, thank you for your tip. But: What do I have to do? I think I can handle a panel.cfg Bert Pieke, in the forum you mentioned I could not find anything. Thanks to both! Volker
October 5, 20169 yr barrel_owl, thank you for your tip. But: What do I have to do? I think I can handle a panel.cfg Which aircraft are you trying to install the GNS530 into? This is essential. If you are comfortable, please paste your panel.cfg here.
