September 20, 20169 yr I found this video that shows how it works here. Also provides some good guidance on the cinematographer feature. Great video thanks. Found it a little disturbing that at min 14.15, he states that it doesn't seem possible to edit joystick assignments anymore - that can't be intentional surely? Eugene
September 20, 20169 yr Hi folks, i am not able to trigger the cinematographer mode with Shift + F5. i tried with another key assignment, it does not do anything. ANy idea? Thanks.
September 20, 20169 yr Someone on the P3D facebook group posted saying the move to .NET 4.6 is huge and I haven't seen anyone else mention it. He said PMDG 777 taxi camera's in VC are not a frame killer anymore, was getting ~26 fps and is now getting 60+ Is he right?
September 20, 20169 yr Work continues over at LM so more to look forward to in the future. Now, I admit that this doesn't necessarily infer that the 64bit version is on its way, but maybe, just maybe its release should be anticipated by reserving space now on the AVSIM servers to accommodate the daddy of all threads as we all indulge our mixed emotions coming to terms with what just happened. My guess is that by this time next year, if not before, Prepar3D will be available in 32bit and 64bit versions. As with hardware, it is likely that the sim will continue to grow in performance, content and complexity making the transition to 64bit inevitable if not mandatory. Better not to delay than risk becoming sidelined by older technology. In time, Prepar3D could evolve into being the definitive affordable flight simulation adopted by all who are serious about the vicarious experience of realistic human flight. Pretentious rubbish? Perhaps. Place your bets now! Mike
September 20, 20169 yr Small update uninstalled FSLABS Spotlights Hi Rich, there is now an update for FSlabs Spotlights. bob
September 20, 20169 yr Hi Rich, there is now an update for FSlabs Spotlights. bob Thanks Bob - just installed it all looks good so far - thanks FSLabs Rich Sennett
September 21, 20169 yr Has anyone confirmed that the external model shadow is now visible from the VC. Look carefully, just because you see a shadow on the ground outside the aircraft doesn't mean that that its the external model! It might just be the VC shadow. Have a good look out the window and see it the entire aircraft has a shadow. If so 6 more weeks of summer! :Big Grin:

Yesterday in the F22 I was zooming along at 300 feet, and when I went inverted (cue the Top Gun "permission to buzz the tower" clip) I admired the shadow of the aircraft below me. This was in the VC. September 21, 20169 yr OK Airbus you only see a small section of the front portion of the aircraft That I'll be the shadod of the VC rather than the external model then. It probably the same with the PMDG birds. Strange that his only effects some addon aircraft. This bug has been around since 2.x If I recall correctly when I asked PMDG about it about a year ago they said it was a P3D issue. I was all excited for nothing :-) Anyway I am on a sabbatical that is not ending any time soon :-)

This bug has been around since 2.x Aircraft developer has to enable it same deal with vc rain - they dont have it turned on to help with performance in both cases Rich Sennett

And updating .NET allows for cleaner more efficient code. I'm not lying to you. David Graham Google, Network+, Cisco CSE, Cisco Unity Support Specialist, A+, CCNA
September 21, 20169 yr And updating .NET allows for cleaner more efficient code. I'm not lying to you. From the latest release note: http://www.prepar3d.com/latest-news/ Having .NET 4.6 installed is required when updating the client. The full install includes .NET 4.6 as part of the install process. Please refer to the What’s New below to see if these fixes are required for your training needs. If you regularly update your Windows 7/10 installation, you have had 4.6 for a while anyways. If you don't, then do not worry... P3D's latest client installs it for you.
September 21, 20169 yr I believe the latest .NET 4.6 runtime version is 4.6.2. But I'm puzzled at why this would make any difference in performance ... didn't notice any difference on my Test PC. Cheers, Rob.
