I found this video that shows how it works here. Also provides some good guidance on the cinematographer feature.

Navigation Visuals UI showing facility, airspace, user, and AI overlays in the 3D world

Basically a 3D representation of the Map feature.

Hi,

Don't you think it's interesting that P3D 32bit is still being updated with enthusiasm and apparent unchecked momentum when we all suspect that the 64bit version will soon appear? The assumption is that the latter is intended to replace its mature progenitor, but perhaps instead the plan Is to allow development of both versions to continue in parallel, at least for a while, to facilitate a gradual and stress-limited transition. This would seem to me to be eminently sensible and would be enormously helpful by allowing sufficient time for their commercial clientele, 3rd party developers and, of course, us to refocus on the new platform.

Many of us, myself included, have not been affected significantly by the VAS constraints imposed by 32bit and are likely to be happy to stay with v.3.x for some time to come. It may be that we might decide to install the 64bit version alongside v3.x and move over gradually as 3rd party compatibilities and finances permit. I imagine that at first the 64bit version's appearance and performance will be not dissimilar to its predecessor so, if you are happy with what you have now, there will be no compelling reason to rush to make the change but would prefer rather to adopt the less dramatic unhurried approach. It could be a win-win prospect for everyone!

LM's customers do not push the VAS boundaries like we do, if they did a 64bit version would be out. They could be planning it in the future, but the VAS issue is something us students of flying can get throwing many addons at the system, not professional flight sims and governments who are the main customers.

Can I save my Autogen folder and place it back afterwards, as I not only use FTX Global but also FranceVFR ?

In that way all the files inside that folder will remain as they are ..

This is what I do all the time if P3D is updated. I have customised autogen files that I backup and then I overwrite the ones in the autogen folder after the update.

If you are not running out of VAS, 64bit is not needed, which is rarely the case. Since version 3, the problems with OOMs are solved for most people. So it is more a hype that is build up.

Regards,

Chris

I may be wrong here but it looks like LM finally programmed the ground shadow to show the external vehicle from cockpit view!

If that's true then I would call that very good news indeed! :-)

Wrong topic sorry

I heard there's a temporary fix out for now and it's suppose to be posted on here somewhere

A fix for?

If you are not running out of VAS, 64bit is not needed

Not sure about that, brother.  Wouldn't 64 bit allow more scenery to run well?

I can fly into - and out of Toronto Flytampa scenery with the 777, but I'll have to do it on bare bones settings.   Likewise, I can do the same with  T2G Seattle, but FTX settings have to be conservative and definitely can't be  PNW FTX  . Actively managing your sim is much more real under our current constraints - and OOM's can definitely still happen to anyone with poor settings management

Sorry I made a comment in the wrong topic I'm new to the forums

I'm not sure I understand what "...programmed the ground shadow to show the external vehicle from cockpit view!

"means... can somebody provide me visual examples?...- a screenshot would do nicely...video even better.

I'm not sure I understand what that means can somebody provide me visual proof?...- a screenshot would

When you are in the virtual cockpit and look at the cast shadow of the aircraft, you will see the shadow of the VC model only (which is basically just the flight deck physical model) not the whole aircraft. I believe what they are saying is that the whole aircrft shadow is now visible

Good news indeed if this is the case.

Yep, when was the last FSX update...?

Is because they are working on the 64 bit. No more wasting time on 32 bit. That is my thought!
