Thanks,

I have noticed it on a few occasions while waiting for my virtual passengers to board. :Cuppa:

Its not my video, but he usually does a great job when it comes to highlighting features. He is the one who sold me on P3D v3

I saw this mentioned here or elswhere.. but on the upgrade.. Do you really need to uninstall the client and content from Programs and Features?  I guess this wouldnt remove 3rd party addons and affect the old scenery file?  Is this really necessary.. in the past i've always upgraded without uninstalling.. downsides?

Uninstalling CLIENT is a MUST before installing v3.4, or you will probably mess (waste) up your license information. It will not mess up your addons. (Takes less than 5 minutes to uninstall-install)

Content and Scenery are optional, but if you decide to update them, then they should also be uninstalled from Programs and Features.

Ok, so even with content and scenery being removed, it shoudnt harm the existing addons correct?

Also.. does anyone know if flyinsidefsx 1.6.1 works with the new version so far.. or is the VR enhancements they've added for rift such that it has built in vr now?

It should work but I will be testing some new betas shortly.  Have to wait as I do not want to spill any beans yet.

Don't know about content but scenery will overwrite any custom textures added by addon scenery, This is specially true for landclass texture products like ORBX FTX Global.

If you have ORBX FTX Global then you must reinstall it after updating scenery, then run central.

If you have UTX just run it's control panel and it will "fix" entries.

Don't know about GEX?

NO

Installing content and scenery will most probalby overwrite any custom textures added by addon scenery, this is specially true for landclass texture products like ORBX FTX Global.

Oh, good point.. yeah I run GEX and I'd rather not start from scratch.. i guess the downside is that any enhancements they've made to the base default content wont show up unless doing a clean install i guess.
