XP11 out of the box!

Featured Replies

So with RealityXP's GTN there's no planes that support vc cockpit panel intergation? Also do you know if there's any crossfill support? I know for FSX there was.

How does RXP GTB 650/750 compare to Flight1's version? Is the price more reasonable I hope if we want to purchase both units?

The unit is essentially the same, they both use the Garmin trainer.  And now that F1 updated theirs to the latest trainer you can have 1 trainer for two sims.

Crossfill I'm not sure.  RXP has forums here at avsim...check them out.

The only thing I'll miss is AS16, 3rd party payware airports, PMDG, Aerosoft Airbus, A2a 172/182, Realair Lancair Legacy and a few other planes, and Flight1's GTN 650/750.

<...>the 737/777 and the upcoming 747 v3 <...> FSLabs A320, QualityWings 787, etc.

XP11 desperately needs, a good weather/cloud addon, ATC addon, FS2Crew addon, FSFX Chaseplane, Precipitfx, FSFX Immersion Packages, A more realistic AI program with more realistic schedules where we can install and not have to mess with creating routes, plans, taxi routes, etc.

LOL That's quite a list. It seems to me you are missing everything that P3D offers and the only thing you like in XP is the default scenery...?  :P Are you sure you are hopping over?

Looks like I'll be finally hopping over to XP11 as well. To be honest, I'm getting frustrated with P3D. The only thing I'll miss is AS16, 3rd party payware airports, PMDG, Aerosoft Airbus, A2a 172/182, Realair Lancair Legacy and a few other planes, and Flight1's GTN 650/750. Other than that, XP11 looks gorgeous.

But the vanilla XP11 out of the box is pretty stunning, with a strong foundation, I believe XP11 will look outstanding once more 3rd party developers start creating amazing add-ons for it.

Please PMDG, hope you're listening. Would love to have the 737/777 and the upcoming 747 v3 on XP11. Along with others such as Aerosoft's Airbus, FSLabs A320, QualityWings 787, etc.

You need to leave the FSX/P3D Mindset too :) They are not the only ones making great addons :)

For example, IXEG 737-400 is probably the most stunning 737 out there. Jardesign made a A320 and A330 you might be interested in trying. Airfoil labs is what you want for your Cessna 172 :) There are other great addons out there .

And the most advanced turboprop simulation for the SaaB 340 - X-AviationLeadingEdge - first to introduce proper turboprop simulation, even before Austin tweaks the internal modeling for XP11 as he announced...

It's going to be my first detailled aircraft buy for XP11 once it get's ported to it. The iXEG 737 may follow, or not, depending on the Citation 500 being released first....  Not that I don't think the iXEG is a true Masterpiece as well, but just because both the SaaB and the Citation would be more in line with the type of civil flying I like to do.

As far as I understand, developing for XP is very different from developing for FSX/P3D, for instance because of the different flight models (scenery seems to be easier though). Since it is already  taking PMDG (and other companies) a year or so to port an existing FSX addon over to P3D, porting FSX/P3D stuff over to XP probably equals a full development cycle. Getting into XP11 with the hopes of finding your FSX/P3D addons there any time soon, therefore probably is the wrong mindset. I regard it as an opportunity to getting familiar with 'new' planes (like the 737-400). If I want my T7, I can still get back into FSX anyway.

Unless they already started the process behind the scenes, xp's plane maker is the same of xp10 but with additional features for 11. PMDG hinted many times in some interviews about porting their fleet to x plane but there was no official announcements.

Oh, I'm sure they will, because it is such an appealing platform. I just wouldn't want people to buy XP11 with the expectation of flying PMDG aircraft (apart from the DC-6 of course) within a year (or two) from its release. But then again, I'm not a developer, so I may very well be wrong about everything ;-)

robert radazzo already mentionend in a stream somewhere that the next x-plane bird will be one of their major addons.  So it is up to everybodies guess what it will be.

My guess will be the 747v3, because he mentionend in a thread that they need to find out what makes more sense,  develop first x-plane and then port fsx/p3d, or first fsx/p3d and then port x-plane.  They done x-plane first with the dc-6 and if they want to do the other way, there is only the 747 in store atm ;)

I'm not new to X-Plane by any means, been using it since version 9. I'm all familiar with those planes and own them. They are not quite on the same level as their FSX/P3D counterparts. This is one of the main things that is holding me back. I'm getting tired of flying 2 sims. I only want one, I can't afford having to purchase add-ons for both platforms, it's already expensive for just 1 platform let alone 2. I want to make the switch to XP11 exclusively, but since I fly mostly tubeliners, there's not a lot out there that meet my expectations. PMDG, FSLabs, QualityWings, and Aerosoft have spoiled me, now I expect everything at least on par or better on XP. IXEG 737 is nice, however I don't like the old classic version of the 737, I want the newer one, like the PMDG 737. And we don't really have a 777 or 747, 787, Airbus A320, A330 that's on par with FSX/P3D.

After getting frustrated with all kinds of addons for XP11 I went back to default XP and flew where that picture was taken (Lugano): I was totally blown away by all the detail and beauty that I saw. Incredible. Awesome. Never seen anything like this before. I almost got fed up with it all but now I am totally into XP11 again. ;)

Rich, I had the same problem with the Saitek throttle and yoke. Go to your X-Plane.prf. It's in the XP11\ Output\preferences folder. Open it with notepad. Go to the entries that are _joy_AXIS_usexx. Put a zero after each entry. ie. _joy_AXIS_use0. Start up XP11 and try assigning your controllers again. It worked for me.
