I miss messing around with config.sys and hymen.sys in order to gain a bit of extra RAM to run DOOM and wolfteim 3D.

hello,

From the site fselite.net "Prepar3d v4.1 will require a full install due to the vast amont of changes"

wait and see.

Full install? I really hope this isn't true.. I really don't want to reinstall all my 3rd party add-ons and reconfigure everything again. Sigh...

Oh No! I have nearly 370 G of P3D v4.0 with addons... Yikes!

But if that is what it takes... for the 585th time (or whatever) with reinstallations since FS98. There must have been 100 reinstalls in FS9 alone, let alone in FSX and P3D, 1,2 and 3!

So, here we go again!

(It's OK, it will keep me in practise for P3D v5 and v6...)

Kind regards,

I read somewhere about that version 4.1 will be out October 10, 3pm EST. We will see.

Full reinstall sounds not so good, especially as most of the add-ons installers used still the main folder..

Yes, man it's so frustrating that a lot of these developers still use the old installation method...

ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU

I have all my addons installed via the XML method, so won't take long to re install. Only the payware planes will involve a full install/

System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A,  Intel i9-14900KF,  Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. WinWing FCU, EFIS, MCDU

I have almost all the ORBX sceneries (That alone are well over a hundred I think, all told), and they do their thing the hard way, one at a time, regardless... It'll take weeks I think with all the aircraft and utilities. Cancel flying time, it's construction time again!

But what about all default textures replaced by the various ORBX Global, Vector, etc.? They will all need to be reinstalled...
