System depth is good

if you say that, it's not an attack if I ask your qualifications for making this statement and to expand on your examples of the reasons system depth is "good"

I am extremely interested in ANYONE who takes the time to post their opinion about a new product they purchased and tested. I don't care if they have are not real-world pilot or mechanics. Are they simmers? Then great, please give us your opinions.

Anyone expecting those posting to provide credentials for taking the time to purchasing, testing and providing useful information is obviously not understanding that this is a hobby. I, like everyone else, will take their comments into consideration when and if I buy. And if this nonsense stops even one buyer of this product to post their opinion here, then we all lose.

As others have said, you don;t have to be a professional aviation industry person to provide a reasonable critique on this.  Frankly,  the only true resource and benchmark you would have to make a reasonable comparison to the 757, is a PMDG aircraft.  It's not perfect, but it is a high fidelity simulation product - and if you are competent at flying a PMDG Boeing and are familiar with its behavior,  then you have a good basis on which to make a comparison.  So any commentary about expected behavior  is valid.

What dissapoints me is that they've made an aircraft many people would be excited for and are willing to do anything get make as much of a profit as possible. I mean really? 75.57 for an airplane? They literally pulled that number out of nowhere because of it's relation to the aircraft. I could place bets on what the price would be if they made another 767... This is just for a PW "Base" model. If you look at their 777 line, they really are going to expect many people to buy multiple packages just to complete an aircraft series. I am well aware of the quality differences between developers...I've been through many releases but this one is by far the most absurd for price and actual product. What's worst is they were rationalizing the price by stating "There are over 40+ liveries available..." There are hundreds of GREAT painters who would gladly create free, high quality paints for free for this plane...that shouldn't be used as a promotion to sell to people questioning "Why so much?". I wonder if their GPWS/flight decks aural warnings will be Boeing accurate this time...for $75 I hope they are.

I'm going to assume anyone who has bought P3D and also paid for a simulation of a 757 to use in it, is going to be reasonably familiar with aeroplanes and their avionics and indeed probably fairly knowledgeable about them. But even if they aren't even remotely familiar with how a airliner works, the 75 bucks they laid down to buy the product is the only qualification they need to be able to offer an opinion on it.

I asked if their opinion is based on being an expert, maybe you should calm down.

But what does being an expert have to do with anything?

He said thst it felt like it was pmdg quality. That's all.

I do the same thing when. I buy a new airplane. I ask myself if this feels up to the standard of pmdg. If it doesn't, then I feel thst It doesn't meet my standard.

I guess I didn't get the memo thst one has to be an expert to have any opinion on these forums.

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠

Okay but do not make claims like it is realistic, close to PMDG level, if you are not an expert to make comparisons on the actual aircraft. If somebody is going to make realism claims I am going to ask their credentials.

In reality it has nothing to do with their credentials....

You just don't like someone saying thst an add-on is up to pmdg level.

Plain and simple.

You're acting like a mother who is protecting their child.

Pmdg may be the gold standard, but it definitely I snt the only add on out there.

Besides, what are your credentials?

I believe, All these debates could be resolved simply with a "money back guarantee." Flight One.

Back on topic, any word from them on FB or their forum about when they expect to be out of beta?

I assume something like TrueGlass is not implemented, correct?

Nope. This to me is a disappointment. I would expect it to be implemented on all planes going forward. Of course the 757 was in development well before 4.1 and if you implement TrueGlass per TFDi you have to pay them for same. I would say the same for ASLabs as well. But hopefully planes like QW's 787 which they are bringing over to P3Dv4 will also get on the bandwagon of TrueGlass type of window effects.

You sure are getting worked up over someone's opinion about a virtual airplane.  Think about that.

I, for one, appreciate everyone's opinion/feedback they leave here about a new product, pro pilot or not.  My initial reaction to the $75 price tag for a beta product was one of an incredulous manner.  Guess I've been burned too many times (but also, I'm to blame.  I was the one to press the "purchase" button).  The further replies to this thread have made me realize I overreacted because it appears CS may have produced a very nice airplane.

I purchased it and it is an awesome aircraft.  Well worth even $100!!  For one you can go into the cabin with real images and it is a real window frame when you look out the window and not just a view of the wing.  You can view all around the cabin during the flight.  There is a remote for the TV (okay, eye-candy).  I just finished a flight from KLAS to KSFO and it flew without a flaw.  Once you have a flight plan saved in the CDU, you can, in the future, use the Request function to get the plan.  You use the Request function to get the parameters of weights and balances.  One of the best features is the fact the nose wheels landed on the center line of the runway and STAYED there.  No pulling to the right or left (which is horribly unrealistic).  Smooth landing with real weather (ASP4).  Instead of hitting a screw on the panel, you hit the EPR button for AP.  There are a ton of views in the VC, the cabin and the exterior.  I am really impressed.

The price of this aircraft is in line with previous purchases.  Yes, it would have been nice to get $10 off for being a previous owner of the 757 but this was made specifically for P3DV4 and it cannot be installed anywhere else.  It appears the developers used the technologies available in DX11.  The FPS were very good.  Here's the FSUIPC log of my flight:

Minimum frame rate was 15.8 fps, Maximum was 66.4 fps
Average frame rate for running time of 2335 secs = 33.1 fps
Maximum AI traffic for session was 183 aircraft
Memory managed: 1103 Allocs, 1102 Freed

When I went on the site I did not see this as a beta product but the base version.  They are working on the extensions which, based on past purchases, will be $19.99 each.  It is in line with today's pricing and not 5-10 years ago.

The only thing I did not like was the fact there is only two paints and you have to figure out the trim yourself.  Everything else is about the same as that in any PMDG aircraft.  In past renditions, CS had a real cabin but it was difficult to impossible to be there as a simulated passenger.  Many posts were made to get the cabin to work.  Well, it works!

Best regards,

Jim

Thanks for the PIREP...

LOL!  Well, I was reading the negative stuff and decided to try the aircraft just for the heck of it and it turned out to be a product well done.  I did get excited over ProATC-X and I was the first one to purchase that product and beta test it for everyone.  Then Chock bought and we both answered everyone's questions.  ProATC-X has come a long way since its first release.

This is a lot different from the normal releases of aircraft.  It has a lot more eye-candy and, sure, do not know anything about flight dynamics and geometry but it flew well in cloudy weather to KSFO.  Like any product release, you are going to get a lot of negative and positive comments.  I'm contributing a positive...

Best regards,

Jim

I might move this back to the P3D Forum as I moved it here earlier today as I thought it was in beta.  It is not.  We have a policy of letting our members know about new new releases but not the releases of Betas where member's beta test the product.  Actually we do beta test even PMDG products.  Our members are very, very sharp and can find an anomaly anywhere!

Site is horribly slow today!  Going to make sure the tech is aware.

Nice review. There are actually several paints accessed from their ACE interface. Little weird to figure out but they're there!
