May 14, 20188 yr Hi there PMDG, I was wondering if a PFPX profile for the 747-8 was being considered when you make your 747-8 (similar the ones FSL did when they released their A320)? The reason I ask is that I worry not many people are going to have any access to 747-8 data to make a profile for it. Cheers, Rudy
May 14, 20188 yr with new 747-8 feature u will not need PFPX for any calculations as u will be able to do those as real pilots do Artur

And lets no forget that people use PFPX for other reasons, such as loading a flight plan into their weather engine and their ATC software. Best regards, Neal McCullough

I don't think the EFB will do that for you. Captain Kevin Air Kevin 124 heavy, wind calm, runway 4 left, cleared for take-off. Live streams of my flights here.

Exactly... nuda Takeoff performance maybe included in the EFB and the viewing of a flight plan. I assume the EFB may take the place of TOPCAT but PFPX would still be needed to simulate your company’s Dispatch Center and create the flight plan. If we could send the PFPX flight plan in electronic format to the EFB, now that would be nice. IM
May 15, 20188 yr Author I'll add when I say a profile - I mean a fuel-burn profile, not the weights etc.
May 16, 20188 yr one profile has been done and im pretty sure it will be available soon. if someone is beta flying contact me and i can run a flightplan for ... Phil
May 16, 20188 yr Commercial Member Pilots would not use the EFB to calculate a flight plan, so PFPX profile is neccessary for that. The one thing we don't need anymore is a topcat profile, which I can't stress how pleased I am to see PMDG finally model a takeoff/landing performance. Kind regards, Alex Unfortunately it looks like the data cost for the EFB t/o calculator was too expensive so I don't think we're getting something comparable to TOPCAT. E.g., it can't do assumed temp calcs. Alex Pugh
