Just installed the 717.  Very nice airframe simulator.  Experienced my first CTD while changing views.

You are at least getting a log.

My sim just shuts down instantly with no trace and no error log!

Now, to read the manuals in more detail, so she's not yelling "Stabilizer" during the entire take-off roll.

On the INIT page set the CG up.  On the TO/Appr page you'll see the CG, to the right you will see the Stab setting you need to set.

try checking event viewer system and application logs too if you haven't done so

Anyone with SLI configuration tested it in v4.4 and can confirm if light flashing disappeared?

About the kernalbase error -- I had the same thing (not with the 717) and after some research found that in dll.xml, CMeteoXml.dll caused it. I changed the disabled to true and it immediately solved my problem.

Try it and see.

Good luck,

P.

You can stop the view change crash by opening a new 2D view window and shrinking it down to be really small. Then just put it on your 2nd screen or behind your main window for P3D.

It worked for me. I heard it from a streamer who had success with it too.

Question is the impact on fps?

I didn’t notice any impact on my FPS. Even a small hit is better than a crash to desktop though right?

This is a well known issue with the TFDi 717, looks like is still not fixed..

I found I had LM's UI (User Interface) set at 512 TEXTURE size. I changed it to 1024 or 2048 and the flickering\flashing seems to subside substantially. I then went into EZDok and  reset my VC view points and saved the new setups. Using the higher texture size, the flickering\flashing has stopped when I change from O/S to inside (any) view. Maybe I'm lucky and found the right spot, but I think it is still a collaborative issue between TFdi and LM. I'm just surprised TFDi has not put a statement on this with regard to P3Dv4.4.

The lack of response by them on their forums regarding this problem is not great. I do not get this problem in any other major addon developer when changing views in an aircraft such as PMDG/FSLabs and more. It's been going on for some time, it puts doubts whether the issue wiill ever be fixed. It doesn't look great and the lack of updates or staff replying to forum threads is not a good look IMO.

Hopefully I'm wrong as it is quite a lovely plane to fly but this CTD error when changing views is off putting. I want to be able to fly the plane and also change views now and again to be able to take screenshots or look around without having that risk of a CTD at any moment.

Talking to TFDI at the FSExpo, other developers use the small window option but it’s done automatically. I was told if you look at the FSLabs or PMDG you will see a small box in the corner of the sim, the one they say to never touch. In order for TFDI to add that feature they would have to recode the whole plane. I guess it makes since. I’m not a developer so maybe someone else can verify this. Been thinking to reinstall it but don’t want to deal with the CTD’s.

From my conversation with them at Expo as well, essentially they're closing the door on the 717.  They aren't able to reproduce the changing view CTD and after 3 years wanted to have their developers fully move on to other projects.

Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM

Still, it impacts the fps significantly.

Question is - is there a certain view which impacts the least?
