NOTE: FSaerodata dont allow anyone to download old ones. Just so I understand, the P3D will be at 1811 but the GTN 750 will be at 1803 correct ? If the present GTN 750 v2.07 is ARAC is 1611, what is the P3D ARAC cycle at now ? Ryzen 5 5600X - Noctua U12A, 32Gb Vengence, Sapphire Pulse 5700xt, WD Black SN750 NVMe SSD

They seem similar, but I'm probably missing something. http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html The free updates from aero.sors will update navaids, gps waypoints and ILS approaches. The payware FSAD does the same thing, and in addition updates airways, airspace boundaries and SIDS and STARS. If you are using F1 or RXP products, the age of the default sim Nav database doesn’t really matter for enroute navigation UNLESS you are using the default FSX/P3D planner to create flight plans. The GNS/GTN databases contained in the Garmin Trainer (either 1611 or 1803), define all the waypoints, airways and SID/STARS independently of the sim’s own nav data. It does matter if you encounter a VOR that has changed frequencies, or an ILS that is misaligned or on the wrong frequency. The freeware Sors databases can help with that. If you use the default FSX/P3D GPS in any aircraft however, it would be adviseable to do the FSAD update at least once so that the GPS and flight planner will be aware of 2018 waypoints , airways and procedures. The default data in FSX is now 12 years out of date! Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. December 27, 20187 yr It's the Garmin Trainer that is being updated. it doesn't care what or which Sim. XP, FS P3d..etc. Edited December 27, 20187 yr by Adrian123
December 28, 20187 yr I'm going to update this as well but I was looking at the Jeppesen site and It looks like they have a deal with Garmin and was wondering with this update if the GTN750 now has the Jeppesen charts or does the Garmin Trainer still have the legacy charts ? Right, also for example, I'm using CS-757 which has AIRAC 1702 and LNM with 1801 and ActiveSky with 1601 so if I do get a 1/month Nav sub it would be nice to have everything on (or nearly) the same page. January 2, 20197 yr Thank You Kevin!!! for the heads up here. I was able to update both my 750 and P3D to the latest AIRAC. Without coming across your post it would have just passed me by. Appreciate your heads up! Cheers, Biob
January 3, 20197 yr How do we know if P3D is upto 1813 ? For example I just loaded KOLM in the default GNS530 and it's only showing me 2 approaches when it should have a few more. Any insight is much appreciated. Edit: ok I just looked at the picture they have on their site for LOWI and it does show the updated Freq's in mine also. I think my understanding is that not every frequency or approach for every airport will match 1813 perfectly I guess. So im not too sure why there is a discrepancy between some chart's and the approach names we see in the default GPS, perhaps they are just abbreviated term's for the approaches. I haven't noticed any approaches not working since I've updated AIRAC's but admittedly lately I have just been doing complex approaches like VOR/DME or NDB so less using a GPS though when I do I haven't noticed any problems.
