So.... Stockholm Arlanda ESSA...??

Featured Replies

There doesn't seem to be much of anything available for this airport that is P3D v4.x compatible, unless i'm just not looking in the right places...

I did see that ORBX apparently has something available.... Does anybody have this, and if so, what are your experiences with it..??

FWIW, I have ORBX FTX Global, NA, SA, and EUR LC, and Vector installed, so I assume their add on airport's are 100% compatible with their own texture and land class products ..??

Any info is appreciated, thanks..

Scott

It is a very nice airport add-on, Scott. One of the places I frequently visit in P3D.
It was lacking jetway animation for a loooong time, but has recently been updated and now features this and some other nice options.
It is well configurable from the FTX Central Control Panel.
Performance-wise it is also rather nice and works fine with all ORBX add-ons including EU Norway.

The only thing I am still not quite convinced about is that the airport textures seem a bit too dark to me. A bit gloomy mood.
But it may be the artist's style or the fact I have never been there in real life.

All in all, I can wholeheartedly recommend it. 🙂

I too have Orbx's ESSA. It's very frame friendly and nicely modelled, as with all Orbx sceneries.

No need to look anywhere else. The Orbx ESSA is outstanding.

I’ll add to the list saying to get it. It’s an awesome scenery!

ORBX ESSA here as well.  Very nicely done airport and ESSA is in general a great airport to fly into, lots of crazy weather and low viz.  never a dull moment there.

One more thing....this airport goes on sale a lot, or is included in ORBX sales quite a bit in case you want to wait for the next sale.

EKCH to ESSA is quite a nice route to fly on P3D v4; did it just a few weeks ago

Especially if you have the PMDG 737 or an A320 in a Scandinavian Airlines livery

ORBX ESSA here as well. Very satisfied with it, the only minor negative thing is that the building textures are flickering a bit.

I used to have this problem right after the new version came out.
Other simmers reported it in the ORBX forum and it seems to have been fixed.
Try removing your current version of ESSA and install the latest one via FTX Central. It should help.

Great scenery! Only negative thing for me: the green lights at night are extremely flickering. Anyone else having this issue?

Definitely worth the money! I use to be at IRL Arlanda about 10 times every year and I can recognize it from my ORBX-ESSA.

I just wish that decent quality photoscenery of Sweden was available, because there is no way that I can fly in and out of a detailed airport scenery that is surrounded by repetitive landclass textures and autogen.
