June 11, 20196 yr What is a good free one please? PlanG doesnt load the world maps any longer (remote server error forbidden)
June 11, 20196 yr Switched from planG a long time ago to little navmap. " Little Navmap is a free open source flight planner, navigation tool, moving map, airport search and airport information system " It is excellent and well worth to make a donation to the developer Alex Projects. But you don't have to.

June 11, 20196 yr Its just the OpenStreetMap option in Plan-G that gives the server error. If you change the map provider in the options to OpenTopoMap or OpenCycleMap it works fine. ...Lloyd Lloyd Noel (Ontario, Canada) Intel i9 [email protected] / NZXT Kraken X73 AIO / MSI MPG Z590 Gaming+ / 64GB DDR4 3600 Corsair Vengeance LPX / Gigabyte RTX4080 Super Gaming OC / Dell S3422DWG Monitor / Corsair RM1000e 1KW PS / 1TB WD Black M.2 (Win 11 Pro) / 1TB Sabrent Rocket M.2 .(MSFS2020) / 512GB Sabrent Rocket M.2 (XP12) / 1TB TimeTec SATA (Misc. & FS Support)

June 11, 20196 yr I use Little NavMap for flight planning and FltPlan Go on an iPad for a moving map display. FltPlan Go also has an Android app. Greg
June 11, 20196 yr Price is a bit steep but worth every penny IMO. Flight planning with SIDS/Stars, taxi guidance, weather integration, checklists, departure/approach charts, vertical guidance, seamless integration with default GPS etc. etc. Great all in one package and very easy to use. There's a fully functional 30 day trial available. June 11, 20196 yr 51 minutes ago, Boomer said: it worth buying EFB? I thought so. Yea it is expensive but it is a one time purchase compared to Navigraphs subscription that has to be renewed. Avilasoft EFB does update and can be updated with a Navigraph ARAC cycle which I do subscribe to in oeder to keep my FMS'S up to date. Much cheaper then a chart subscription. I'm happy anyway. I'm sure some may disagree. Edited June 11, 20196 yr by PATCO LCH Vic green
June 11, 20196 yr Moderator It's not free but if you have a Navigraph subscription, their Simlink moving map is quite good. Although I have all 4 ( Navigraph, PlanG, Little NavMap and EFB - i generally go to LNM for ease of use. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

As a beta tester I didn’t need to buy it but I did buy v1 which was excellent. v2 is even better and with a Navigraph subscription it’s indispensable for my flights. The author is Swiss so to some extent the price is not his fault. Everything out of Switzerland is pretty expensive. You get a 30 day free trial which shows what confidence the author has in his product. Give it a try. I also use LittleNavmap for seeing which river, lake, city or town I’m flying over. That too is very good and although it’s free I made a contribution. The author deserves it. Ray (Cheshire, England).
