July 15, 20196 yr Wow, that is interesting... I miss the old Boeing, what it has evolved into is so disappointing. Busdriver (Bill) KPHL 8086K @5.4GHz, EVGA GTX 1080 TI FTW3, DDR4 16GB @4000MHz, Samsung 970 NVMe (M.2) Windows 10 Pro, Samsung M.2 1TB for P3D V4.5
July 15, 20196 yr No, they’ve had that 200 name for the high density cabin version since before this fiasco. Edited July 15, 20196 yr by KevinAu

July 15, 20196 yr Evidently some of the airlines fear that passengers will never want to fly on a 737 Max, even after Boeing completes its modifications. But Ryan Air. the low cost UK carrier seems to be planning to remove the "Max" from the designations of its aircraft. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeremybogaisky/2019/07/15/ryanair-and-iag-may-be-renaming-the-737-max-but-boeing-says-it-isnt/?ss=cmo-network#3d88be546cd1 It might work in the long term and fool future passengers. July 15, 20196 yr Looks like it's already happened: https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/jul/15/boeing-737-max-ordered-by-ryanair-undergoes-name-change "Photos have emerged of a 737 Max in Ryanair colours outside Boeing’s manufacturing hub, with the designation 737-8200 – instead of 737 Max – on the nose. The 737-8200 is a type name for the aircraft that is used by aviation agencies." July 16, 20196 yr I can see the logic in Ryanair wanting the "MAX" designation to be removed. I wonder how many future air travellers will actually be reluctant to fly on a "MAX" plane.... July 16, 20196 yr News just today shows Ryan Air's revenue will be affected by the 737 Max problems, whether or not future passengers refuse to fly on the 737 Max. I think this also shows that any airline, like Ryan Air, whose fleet consists entirely on one aircraft model (the 737) puts itself in a risky position. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/jul/16/ryanair-to-cut-services-due-to-boeing-737-max-crisis My system specs: Intel [email protected] - 5.2 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, 32GB DDR4 RAM, Noctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler,1TB Seagate SSD, 4TB Seagate HD, Windows 10, Asus 32 inch monitor, Saitek Yoke, Throttle Quadrant, Rudder Pedals and Trim Wheel Sims: MSFS2020 Preferred Aircraft Black Square Bonanza, and Baron, A2A Comanche, PMDG DC-6, Red Wing L1049
July 16, 20196 yr They're going about it all wrong: Instead of renaming it, they should replace the MCAS stuff with a dive-bombing siren, like the one on the Junkers Ju-87 'Stuka'. Doing that wouldn't make it fly any better of course, but at least people on the ground would know it was coming.🤣 And as far as what gets painted on the side goes; I should think they could vastly improve the reputation of those particular aeroplanes, by not painting Ryanair on the side of them either. 🤣 Edited July 16, 20196 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

The siren would have thus been a cheap and easy modification.. But I had nothing to complain about as the flights were on time and I wasn’t dumped anywhere unexpectedly! That said, I won’t be booking on Ryanair again once they introduce the Max until the type has had at least a couple of years to prove its reliability! Bill
