July 25, 20196 yr Very happy to read Microsofts latest 25th July update. Hey I guess @188AHC is probably still sleeping and missed the shout-out, I second that by the way!
July 25, 20196 yr Commercial Member Below is an excerpt from the update: August (Mid/Late) – Development Roadmap Release (v.2019.08/drr1) Development beats through EOY 2019 Build Program Recruitment and Release timeline SDK Update 3rd Party Content Update UGC Content Update It is great to see that BOTH 3rd Party Content and User Generated Content (UGC) will be part of the platform. Hopefully a solid SDK will be released sufficiently prior to the release of the platform. I would love to see that, which would allow for a good portfolio of professional 3rd party products, as well as some great user generated content available on Day One. That would truly be epic. Converted addons might not be as detailed or modern as native FS2020 addons will be, BUT it would give the new sim a HUGE array of aircraft to fly out of the gate.

I'm very glad to read the roadmap announcement and what we can expect. Now we must get ready for 50 pages of yea/nay comments and endless disection of each word in the release. 😁 Thank you. Possibly similar to how XP10 aircraft can be used with the current XP11. Although not without some problems, which is why Carenado can charge full price for the v11 models. Maybe not good news for those who are expecting a completely new sim written from scratch, with no legacy code. Also wouldn't be great news for 3rd party payware developers who (like the Carenado example above) probably wouldn't want the market diluted with legacy aircraft, so they can sell you new ones. We'll just have to wait and see... X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator on Windows 10 i7 6700 4.0 GHz, 32 GB RAM, GTX 1660 ti, 1920x1200 monitor
July 25, 20196 yr Yeah, that was a better update than I expected honestly. I would have liked a few screenshots though!
July 25, 20196 yr Yeah it was word not allowed in terms of eye candy, but a genius idea to base the whole thing on forum posts
