Need some P3dv4.5xxx or v5 Rumors? Any

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

This will be a fun thread, I hoping some of the beta testers can drop some hints (again hoping here).

Any ideas when HF2 is coming out or the next update for P3D.  Everyone has been so quiet about it.  I have a feeling that LM has to drop some HF2 or some update as Orbx Central testing found an issue with global textures that P3d is doing something wonky.

What is happening on the Prepar3d front?

Thanks

PS - Rob, please spill some beans

So do ORBX want LM to make P3Dv4.5 compatible with ORBX Scenery, I thought it`s the other way round usually.

They found a bug which is in Prepar3d on how it is processing few textures.  LM has to fix it this minor bug.  I am hoping for the next HF2 that way we all get to see what updates they have been doing over the last few months.

I get the feeling that LM is going to enforce all addons be outside installed for P3Dv5 and maybe completely new way of doing things - again this speculation at its' best

At this point, does it really matter?  With MSFS 2020 on the horizon, how many people would be interested in purchasing another version of P3D built on the same/tired ESP engine?  I love P3D and plan to use v4.5 well after MSFS2020 is released. However, I have no desire to invest in a new sim that requires hundred, if not thousands, of additional dollars to achieve a realistic environment/flying experience.  I can’t imagine there are many simmers willing to invest heavily into V5 until they have more fatality on MSFS2020.  I could be wrong; yet, anecdotally i have lost all interest in ESP...MSFS 2020 previews have been that good...

If addons for V4 are compatible with V5 and V5 brings some significants enhancements, I would buy V5.

Because, if MSFS2020 is released in 2020 and meets the expectations, it will take time for the ecosystem to thrive to be at the level we know today for P3D.

Usually in the past, some leaks were always dropped.  For example amazing indicator was Pete Dowson's holiday schedule.  His schedule was always synced up near P3D releases.  It was a funny observation.  I still can not figure out if that whole scenario was planned or LM guys having fun with Pete.

I read some sad news. Those creating & proliferating untrue rumors will be denied access to P3D until the next version is released. 😁

LM is watching. 😎
