Graphics options request

Featured Replies

Greetings!

Since I know that MS is watching / listening, I have but one simple request. Would you PLEASE make sure that we have access to ALL of the options that we need to set on our GPUs to make the sim look the way that it should from the options menu in the sim? For years now, I've had to use Nvidia Inspector to set some of the options that aren't available from within the sim. 99% of us are using Nvidia or AMD GPUs. Please make sure that we can configure them properly via the in-sim menus.

And as to the rodent thing.... We on the coasts have to avoid the occasional flock of seagulls or egrets. Just saying...

i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

Actually for me...NO graphics setting we be awesome!  I'm tired of having set 8 million different parameters in my G-Card and the sim.  Let's just have it run decent from the get go. 😁

Just make it 'small,' 'medium', or 'large'...and some skittles.

There should be the option to configure the setting via either a basic Graphics settings page or on an Advanced page for people who want to fine tune their system. And that's important because on other sims for instance the amount of road traffic and the radius of road traffic drastically affects performance and so some people really need Advanced settings in the menus for that. Bring on the sliders and the more the better.   Even a slider for Rodents would be ok 🤣

I am with you here. I look forward not to easier tweakings but less tweakings 😀 !

One thing thought. If there are HDR, Bloom etc. sliders, it would be nice to be able to open them in the game window to see the instant result of manipulations.

Yes, and it would be great too, if the time of the day, the date/season, could also be changed instantaneously. I think XP allows changing the time of day instantaneously.

Right, there are two keyboard keys (which can be reassigned) for moving the clock, plus holding Shift to move time faster. It's great for screen shots. Pause the sim, find your camera position, and advance or retard the angle of sunlight exactly how you want it.

ETA: I also use this to cheat when I can't spot a hard-to-see runway in daytime, quickly advancing time until the lights pop out. 😉

In XP you don't even need to go into the menus, there are keyboard shortcuts to fast forward/rewind the time, and there also super fast forward/rewind too.

L-M have nailed in in P3Dv4.x by providing a "Time Preview" popup window. One can slide time fwd/back up to 24 hours. Cancel or Accept as desired.

I agree. I don't want more settings to play with. I want as few settings as possible. At best the sim would dynamically handle all settings by itself so that there will always be the best achievable graphic in any given situation to maintain a predefined framerate.

No more tweaking. I don't want to have to do that again with the new sim.

Well I used X Plane but that's not a Game, it's an engineering tool.

Me - several different genres! I'd be surprised if I wasn't just one of many.

Yep if DCS Can do it so can MS

I believe DCS has 3 system settings, high med and low..work's perfect

I'm with the original poster.  Make it so we can adjust the settings somewhere in the sim, not having to adjust settings in our graphics cards.

And please give us enough options that everyone can adjust it to their personal preference.  We've already got coarse options but no one ever uses them preferring "custom" instead, although the coarse options should exist as a starting point.
