I knew that. But I have a working VR in P3D. It is not super, but it works. So if I have to make decissions based on priorities I would choose something else to update.

Improved multi-screen (multi-window) performance. Currently just having an extra scenery window open reduces performance substantially, and by the time you have three such windows the performance is halved.  This affects multi-screen (or projector) surround views which are desired for any full cockpit implementation.

The GPU(s) are then not even maxed out -- the limit is CPU, and then mostly on the one core (core 0, or the first allowed).

Win10: 22H2 19045.2728
CPU: 9900KS at 5.5GHz
Memory: 32Gb at 3800 MHz.
GPU:  RTX 24Gb Titan
2 x 2160p projectors at 25Hz onto 200 FOV curved screen

How does wideview (the multimonitor software)compare performance wise? Does it degrade performance too?

In p3d V4 the most important improvement for me would have to be the scenery. AS & Skyforce do an amazing job creating dynamic weather and the water in P3D v4 is good enough. Certainly all three should be improved, but if I had to choose one, it would be the scenery.

If we take a closer look of what XP 11 has to offer with an addon like ORBX TruEarth, we can see the possibilities of an amazing simulator with just an upgrade to the scenery.

I have the planes that fly properly, in dynamic weather, without the amazing scenery and performance to go with it. I hope P3D v4 can bring us new rendering engine with a whole new level of smoothness. It's something we have been clamoring for a long time.

MSFS

what is the point of such poll ?, does anybody from LM care or take into consideration any results or remarks ?

I seriously doubt that MSFS2020 will be the perfect sim on the 1st day of release.

Now that exactly is my point of view too. I do expect that it take several years from now to become MSFS2020 on a level where P3D now is (Level means Addons, Stability, etc.). So I want to make sure, that P3D keeps getting also input from the community what we would like to see in P3D. And in my opinion there is a lot of chance for P3D to stay "intune"

Actually, what I really hoped Lockheed-Martin would do, was NOT new sky, cloud and precipitation textures.

Instead a complete overhaul of the lighting, atmosphere and environment system within P3D. Make true lighting. Real atmosphere buildup. True shadows and real clouds, which are susceptible to light, shadow - both from the Sun but also from the aircrafts and objects within the sim.

That was how I understood choice #1.

As it was ment to be. So choice 1 would be the right choice for you

All sorts of things I want from P3D v5, a lot have already been mentioned on this thread so far.

Relatively easy improvement? Make dawn and dusk more realistic.
- Stars are displayed when the sun is above the horizon.
- The ground appears really dark in P3D even if the sun is above the horizon.

Neither of those two things is credible.
