oh, I am not THAT worried  ? And the basic idea is that anybody could post without being called childish, even you or me. Good vibes, man (as we used to say when I was young) !

While I understand the frustration, Jim said it best, being prepar3d makes it much easier to do re-installs. I personally have not had any problems with anything and I have installed lots of add-on's. However what I do is have a separate folder with all my scenery installers and passwords on a back up drive. So everything goes nice and smooth. Does it take a while, well sure but much better then if I did not have it in the same place. Everyone please do this, it will make your life much easier when rebuilding your computer. Then you only need to perform any updates there may have been which go much faster.

my 2 cents...

I am done living in a house.  I tear down my house and rebuild it once a year because I like building things and my employer buys me the lumber.  But the hassles of moving all my stuff to storage, rebuilding, and then updating all my furniture to match the new color scheme every year have gotten so burdensome that I find I don't have time to live a life in my house any more.

Definitely my house is the problem.  I would rather live outdoors than deal with all these challenges.

So...what's wrong with this picture??

This is a "brilliant" response to the OP.   Absolutely perfect.  Couldn't have given a better analogy.

Thank you for making it very CLEAR to everybody here.

If I changed PC's every year, I'd be as frustrated as the OP.

P3d runs perfectly on my Jetline PC.  Every 3 or 4 years or so, I might be inclined to upgrade with Jetline, but I do that when I want to do it, and because there's a major change to the sim program I am using.  I did it last time when I moved from FSX to P3d.  Best move I ever made.  My upgrade eliminated OOM's for good, and that was a reason to change.

Maybe it is far fetched, but I cannot imagine that LM lets MS feed on their market share. They will monitor MS and have something brewing for the next version of P3D.

Michael

You guys really don't know how the US military complex works.  LM have nothing to worry about

I used to feel the same way as the OP, then one day I came to the revelation that this hobby is a part of my DNA.

I think the gentleman that posted this thread deserves a little more respect from some of the condescending responses I have read here. I won`t say any names because they know who they are.

Sounds to me you are just retiring from the hobby not from P3D. P3D is just your current simulator. If you were just retiring from P3D, you would be then getting an alternative right now.

This is normal, people take breaks from their hobbies but eventually they come back.

Watching the FS2020 previews have felt the same many times, tempted to push the uninstall button. Finally getting tired of keeping up with the dated graphics engine, single core limitation, and so on.

My version 3.4 is smooth as silk with great FPS. I fly about 12 hours per week every week, and it is the most stable sim I have seen.

I read a LOT of posts from smug P3D users demanding FSX gets wiped off the face of the earth and asking devs to forget FSX and build only for P3D because it is the future

And then boom! P3D will be made redundant in 2020...lol , who would have ever dreamed that?

Love it.  I stay with the latest and the best.  Right now, it's not FSX...it's P3d.  Tomorrow it will be MS2020.  It's called "PROGRESS".

Is there anything wrong moving from the not so bad old to the much better new ? It has been like ever since I've been addicted to this game.

I can't wait for MS2020 to hit the market. Not that I would purchase it, but I am sure reading the posts from early users will be really entertaining. 😏
