The excitement is over. All those guys who said that they would not touch a flight simulator until the new MFS has been released are now busy flying in P3D or XPlane, and don't have time to visit the forums anymore because they are thoroughly enjoying themselves with two dead simulators that are no longer of any use to anyone

Umm..”nope”. Not me anyhow. 

No flight simulator installed at all, and there won’t be until this new MSFS. 

All focus on the future here. Also unsubscribed from the endless spammy sales emails from OrbX

Those of us "unchosen" don't have much to talk about. We've already provided MS with a 40-page wish list. The chosen ones are NDA'd so can't say anything. Not surprising that the forum is quiet.

Exactly this. Almost sad to see people use that question as a launching platform for all sorts of awkward attacks at people, about their platforms and whatnot. There's been no real news lately, so of course it's going to be quiet.

We're just plain relieved to know we've got a Ticket out of Lego-Land (FSX/ P3D/ X-Plane)

and we're just waiting to do the walkaround in a brand new World more suited to our talents and aspirations.

If you have made the journey from the wire-frame graphics of the early '80's and FS1 through to now you wouldn't be so dismissive of FSX/P3D/XP. Those of us who have appreciate what we have up to this point - if this new sim delivers then it is another step of the journey.

Same comment applies to the entitlement shown by some on various add-ons, especially aircraft - people who believe that a sim add-on should be able to deliver the functionality of a full level-D sim.

Ganter, it was your use of numeric "1" in an attempt to disguise the more common term for excrement. Please, do not try to work around the "word not allowed" filter..

I really don't get why some peope are so hostile against our present sims and developers who have given me numerous hours of excitement. I will certainly welcome the future when it arrives (if it delivers), but I don't see any reason to abandon what I have right now.

Indeed. I started with FS4 in 1991. No wire-frames but no textures yet either. I am still impressed what I have today.

Ganter, AVSIM is a world-wide forum open to anyone at all. There are no age limits, so there are many very young people who visit. Therefore we wish to keep the forums as profanity free as possible. That rule has been in affect since the founding of AVSIM, so it's nothing "new" and unheard of.

We getting a new "something" to chew on this Thursday?

I'm out of the loop on the schedule/itinerary for things with MSFS right now

The only confirmed stuff is dates for the next two Feature Discovery episodes, and initiation of the recruitment for Tech Alpha #2.

If the "early November" deliverables are assigned to this Thursday, we will be getting a roadmap update and a new media pack. That could be assigned to next week though.

Well, the new Obsidian sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds came out recently and is pretty fun. Last night the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 unlocked, and I just got eaten by wolves. 

Aside from that, I did get a flight in before Nov. 1 with FSEconomy to cover my monthly fees on two aircraft in that game. So I'm still flying... when not being eaten by wolves or giant space lizards.
