If you had an Xbox game account with MS before the Alpha, that's the username that gets used. You can change that but no insider should be asked for info on this forum and betray the trust MS and ASOBO have placed on use by following this forum. Raymond Fry.

I'll summarize the ones who most caught my attention: When talking about the night environment, the guy was literally choking. He could not speak properly. The clouds reflect the lights from the cities below. There's no lights burned into the textures like in other sims, the lights simply extend as far as the eye can see. He was just completely blown away. On a modest machine, the sim was running at 20 fps, on ultra settings, at a very heavy area (São Paulo). Sounds good to me. He mentioned the cockpits don't look as realistic as on other sims. They "feel" like plastic. At the end of the day, feedback was extremely positive and it really just makes waiting ever so more unbearable 🙂 PS: What's wrong with people and all this discussion about the NDA? Even if some jack*ss will "try" to talk "word not allowed" about MFS, we're all super hyped and pretty much everyone wants to get their hands on it, so do we really care? I don't, and I'm genuinely amazed at all this polarization about this topic... I'm curious to know what the general tester reaction was to the cockpits, because the "plastic" description doesn't really track with what I've seen in pictures and videos - the materials work looks very good. Maybe he means "plastic" in some other sense.

All the small Cessnas and Pipers I’ve flown in real life that were built in the 70’s and 80’s had plastic facia on the panels, which in real life tends to get brittle and crack in high temp dry areas like the Arizona desert. December 24, 20196 yr Clearly asking for a reaction for the tech alpha isn't going to get you a Christmas card from Microsoft! Why don't we focus on what we would like Microsoft to show us next. For me the deep dive videos including IFR and Airports will be fascinating. I'd also like to see some more on ATC and missions. There probably isn't too much left if I'm honest, I mean we can go all day about features but Microsoft still need to work on the core mechanics first which these deep dives videos are still flushing out.
December 25, 20196 yr An interesting point. It's true that we have seen it looks good, let's have some meat. They said it was geared more towards simulator enthusiasts, please demonstrate some of the more "simulator stuff."

December 27, 20196 yr What kind of "simulator stuff" are you talking about? As Tuskin38 mentions, the Discovery series videos shows lots of simulator stuff, so what more do you want? At the moment it`s VFR sim. Raymond Fry.

They will post a video in Feb. which is labelled "IFR Discovery Episode". I don't think we've seen much of the jet cockpits yet (apart from the teaser in XO19 trailer for the A320 Neo) because they are still work in progress.

I'm pretty sure you can fly IFR with SIDS/STARS and programme a flightplan in the GA's we have seen so No, it's not just a VFR sim. I also don't think the Airbus and 747 are finished yet and that's why we haven't seen much of them, but I think in the beginning lots (and lots) of people will use it as an VFR sim to check out the sceneries, I know I will, even though I usually fly Jets 90% of the time. Right... that's another interesting topic... how many of the people commenting/reviewing are actual real pilots? Because it could be that many of them are just avid simmers and have grown to believe that the way things look and feel in the current simulators are the "goal", where they most certainly are not.
