December 20, 20196 yr The nVidia SHARPENING filter, should win some kind of optics award...for this one feature has done more than practically anything else to date, to give clear, precise optics...that truly mimic the real world. Simply beyond belief! The following snaps are having lifted off from KRDM, out and over Orbx's Oregon TE HD...headed East, for Ottawa, Canada. Beautiful morning sun, around 8:30 am.... up..up, and away...
December 20, 20196 yr Does look amazing Mitch! Are you using anything else in your set like ReShade or Xvision? December 20, 20196 yr Looking at limitations per NVidia" Sharpening will not work with HDR displays GPU scaling engages when games are played only in full-screen mode, and not in windowed or borderless windowed mode. I use HDR displays and windowed mode so it appears this would not work for me. Franklin Duncan
December 20, 20196 yr Thanks for the tip. I tried it in P3D and found it to be 'cost free' in terms of FPS. I think it looks good. It seems the colors are a bit desaturated with it enabled, but I could just be imagining things. Here's how to do it, in case anyone wants to try it out. Yes, I am using in all my shots xVision 1.41 and this script...which is most excellent...where I did also a PBR modification to enhance it... You can get it off the .org XtremeRealisticV6.xvs Set PBR to 3.0 to eliminate shimmer of auto-gen. Make sure you SAVE after any alterations to the script.

RichieFly, I could never go back to not having this filter engaged. Simply now, won't happen, lol. It's now like my monitor is merely a window that I am looking out, from the interior of the cockpit.... no blur...you can see the mountain features...at the horizon event....wow!

I had to adjust the slider down to 0.35 tough. For me 0.50 was too much. I also occasionally use Aerofly FS 2, which has very nice and sharp graphics, and with this new drivers, P3D is really very very close. A little gimmicky. if only real life as that sharp, what with all the glare, haze, dust and dirt on the cockpit window, tinted windows then looking through sunglasses. But it makes screenshots look pretty I suppose. 🙂
