January 1, 20206 yr Just Flights 747 Classic. After looking at the features and the development page / forum, this will set the bar above every other add-on ever made. By a country mile. This will be the Aeroworx version for the Classic me thinks. Exciting times!

What are you guys expecting for 2020? -New or updated airplanes? -Scenery? -P3DV5? Welcome to the wonderful world of flight sims. In our little area of the world we thrive on a lack of information and rumors. With a very few exceptions the only time "we the customers" are deemed important enough to be considered worthy is when one of the Dev's needs us to open our wallets and throw our credit cards at them. -New or updated airplanes? We don't know and according to the rules of our small world we won't until it's time to pay the tab. -Scenery? See above for answer. -P3DV5? Who knows. Why should we be able to make plans for the future? That is just not part of the little game they play. LM will let us know when it pleases them. We have one developer at Vertx who as the story goes has been so busy with a family emergency that it has been impossible to answer an email or make even one update to a website for over 1 year now. He was however able to find the time to transfer the money we sent from his webstore to his bank account. January 1, 20206 yr Author I'm personally excited for flightbeam NZAA, hopefully LVFR MCO, PMDG 777 refresh, FSL 319/320 PBR. I'll be there eventually, but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm 2 years out from switching to MSFS. Some other things I'd love to see, but not counting my breath. -VATSIM. More controllers using CPDLC. January 1, 20206 yr Ah, another speculation thread! <sarcasm>I like these!</sarcasm> I think we'll see a P3Dv5 in 2020. What would it bring? Featurewise, I'm sure LM has considered features their main customers think should be in this type of desktop simulator. Given P3D is mainly marketed to defense/military customers, my guess is these features revolve around real time mission collaboration (what we call multiplayer), data gathering, report generation (i.e., given 10 fighter/bombers participated in a bombing mission, what was the total fuel used?), new pilot familiarization with trainers, search and rescue training, etc. After all, what would LM's main customers buy P3D for? It's not to fly a B737 for a virtual airlne, nor to fly a prop airplane between small airports in the Pacific northwest. The idea is to offer a desktop flight simulator that lets more people practice and prepare for the things LM's main customers do, but at a much lower cost than on more expensive and fewer simulator, while perhaps adding data fueled features not available in the more expensive real simulators. My guess is LM has spread out that feature set in a level-of-importance order, determined which ones could be done with their existing talent, and decided which ones would be in each version/block. Of course, we would be expecting things like better performance, ATC, etc., but these features are not necessarily top priority for LM's main customers. They would like features that would prepare them to conduct a military missions and training at a lower cost, we would like ATC AI to land softer. January 1, 20206 yr I am hoping for simulation of tactical nukes in P3D v5, including "deformable terrain and objects", highly detailed simulation of blast waves and firestorms, and mushroom clouds that interact with real time weather. Anything less than that, and I stick with FS4. January 1, 20206 yr Author Shomron: LVFR has definitely suggested it's a very real possibility in their own forum. Rob: I agree. January 2, 20206 yr I think the answer to where I will be with P3D post MS2020 - will be that I will still be using the best of the aircraft I still buy - IE HD or 4K PBR - in MS 2020 - since I'm sure I read in all the MS blurb is that A/c purchased for FSX/P3D could still be used in the new sim. If not - I will continue to fly my P3D Hangar via Orbyx - and buy the new X Box to use the MS sim and pay $500 for the box and say another $500 for a new tailored Thrustmaster setup - instead of a new top line PC for around $4000. ( Thinks????? - meanwhile I might experiment with the beta mod FSX that MS have placed on steam ----- to check a P3D a/c)

What are you guys expecting for 2020? -New or updated airplanes? -Scenery? -P3DV5? Happy New Year to you too! FWIIW an Orbx dev recently said on his own blog that v5 has entered into beta. So 2020 should see two new branches in the FS tree. As LM hasn’t said a word about v5, difficult to assess what they will bring to the table. If history tells us anything, it should be incremental in nature. I wish they prove me wrong though as I like the idea of a large aerospace company being in the flightsim market. But can they free themselves from the Aces legacy to innovate as Asobo does ? They have the means, do they have the will ? Thanks to an unprecedented openness, we have now a fairly good idea of what MS FS20 is going to be. If they deliver, difficult to imagine flying something else, specially a P3Dv4++. Sceneries ? Nope. I am mostly interested by regional sceneries and Orbx is plowing the same fields again and again and again, has given up OLC Asia and most certainly Africa and making new stuff like Florida for XP. Interesting choice as Florida has been a constant request from the P3D crowd for years. Good luck to them with XP. Interestingly enough, John V has just announced that he will not publish the Orbx roadmap as usual early this year. Aircraft. Waiting for Fs20 and P3D now. January 2, 20206 yr Commercial Member Whatever platform I use the most at the end of 2020, whether it’s P3D or FS20, I’m just hoping for the “early access/paid beta” trend to end. Been burned as a consumer way too many times recently with incomplete products that underperform when juxtaposed with what is promised or advertised. Or simply products released in a hurry then development resources move on to another project without any follow-up to address bugs or any incomplete areas that were advertised. I’m more than happy to financially support *quality* products and developers if the completeness, attention to detail, and quality control are all there. In addition, boy I sure miss the golden days of freeware around FS2002-2004. Some of my most favorite, in-depth addons were developed as freeware. Not everything needed to be payware. Seems to be much rarer these days. Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
March 1, 20206 yr Author Just circling back to this thread. Most recent news I've seen the last week is LVFR finishing up a new FLL with a sloped runway, BDL+HNL also coming this year. Then Pacific Islands doing a CLE and updating SLC.
