April 7, 20206 yr I’ll wait about first opinions about VR from 14 april or from beta testers ;). April 8, 20206 yr If v5 performance isn't on par with Aerofly FS2 at this point as far as VR Optimization then I can't bother. As far as a CPU/GPU optimized stutter free experience in both Single Pass and Stereo 3D Modes. Where max or at least near max graphical settings can be a reality for higher power hardware. April 8, 20206 yr Does DX12 bring any benefits to VR? VR hasn't been mentioned much in the feature list.

Any case there is any doubt, that was 'irony'. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
April 8, 20206 yr Author Good news: VR support not worse than in P3Dv4.5. https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6315&t=136746&p=211928#p211918 Webmaster of yoyosims.pl.Win 10 64, i9 9900k, RTX 3090 24Gb, RAM32Gb, SSD M.2 NVMe, Predator XB271HU res.2560x1440 27'' G-sync, Sound Blaster Z + 5.1, TiR5 [MSFS, P3Dv5, DCS, RoF, Condor, IL-2 CoD/BoX] VR fly only: HP Reverb G2
April 13, 20206 yr Or, how about this: Hello, Version 5 will still fully support VR. VR performance is also improved due to the performance improvements made in the DX12 rendering engine overhaul. April 14, 20206 yr Well......I am very skeptical about this message in P3D V5: Enhanced atmospherics is not supported in virtual reality mode and has been disabled! That does not fit to wat LM wrote earlier: See post above. Others? Regards, Marcus P.
April 14, 20206 yr Just took a spin in P3d V5 with the Just Flight Tomahawk and ORBX TE South. Currently the VR experience is poor. With the Rift S the left eye is flickering/tearing. Tried in both stereo and single pass, but same issue. Also, as above, enhanced atmospherics is not supported in virtual reality mode. On the positive side, frame rates are definitely much better, so going forward things look very promising. Also, no black scenery pops (as yet). Just wish it was a bit more usable out of the bag - which is not the case right now. Edited April 14, 20206 yr by snaparaz
April 14, 20206 yr One step forward, two steps back it seems... I wish I read about that the enhanced atmospherics are not supported in VR earlier. I would have held off my purchase until it is. Edited April 14, 20206 yr by Farlis
April 14, 20206 yr Author Flickering? Oh no.... I saw posts about oversized cockpit now also in VR in v5. Is it true?
