Avsim have already blocked dishonest, untrustworthy simmers screenshots, so I guess they’ll do the same with their videos.

Watching videos of an incomplete sim tells me nothing. All it is for is the screenshot kids (like Matthew) waiting to pause it and screenshot it for their discord buddies when they are home from school.

He was the only one vocalising for evidence of it and Asobo answered. If I was him I’d be pretty pleased with that.

I get what your saying but some people like the facts laid out in front of them an not just hints. Personally I’m happy with a hint and a wink from some of the alpha guys like simtom. I just commented on this because the overreaction to the “illegal leaks” was a bit ridiculous and Matthew raises some good points I for one don’t want him singled out when he makes some valid points (albeit strongly). There’s not many entertaining posters left on here these days 🙂

Well, I very much doubt Asobo took any notice of me, and as you say, all I was doing was asking for some evidence (i.e. screenshots) that Asobo had actually implemented undulations.  

The screenshots that have since been provided look great.  And unlike the flat runways of FSX/P3D, every airport in MS2020 (especially the "generics") should now have it's own unique runway "profile" which makes for more interesting takeoff/landings, no matter subtle the undulation is.

Yes, I think the ban was for over a week 🤦‍♂️.  Can't even remember what I said because when a mod deletes a post you can't even see it in your profile's history.

Ya' know, I I think we all (most of us at least) have dreamed of something like this sim for years.

But i'm not at all sure we deserve it.

In fact, the more we talk, the more I trend towards thinking we probably don't.

If I was Microsoft, I would probably be smacking myself on the forehead right about now, and wondering what the hell I was thinking.

Microsoft is not a charity and if MSFS2020 doesn't make a profit, they will happily pull the plug, without any remorse.

And I wouldn't blame them this time.

MS is not happy about the leaks because now the Alpha has more watermarks to deal with. This is why I don't take and post screenshots and it most likely means the beta will have restricted access. Very likely MS will keep current testers instead of adding new ones. Sucks for people waiting for invites because like always a few people ruining it for everyone else.

And I'm not saying immediately, I'm sure they would carry a (smallish) loss for a few years to see if things picked up.

But anyway, I doubt it'll lose money, I presume MS did their sums and wouldn't even embark on the project a couple of years ago unless they were confident of success.

Surely they expected leaks with (apparently) 10,000+  alpha testers who were "lottery drawn" from the applications.

The leaks would get little traction if MS/Asobo actually uploaded every week a decent length video (say 15+ minutes) produced by an alpha tester.

The 10 second animated gifs they uploaded last update are laughable IMHO and it's no wonder people are quenching their thirst for content by scouring Chinese websites.

Like that SimTom guy.  Heck, every week SimTom could post a poll that lets the AVSIM community vote on what video they would like to see the following week.

Anyway I'm sure there are a number of testers that would happily produce 10+ min videos, probably they already do, and Asobo just doesn't use them.

So why not? Oh Asobo just wants to drip feed to keep us hungry?  Like we are teenage X-boxers?  Oh sorry, I forgot, that is their primary market anyway, makes sense now. 🤦‍♂️
